Wild boar barn

Lovely place to stay, right on the edge of the fells. Would love to explore more of the area another time. Very friendly and kind hosts who really went out of their way for us.

Amazing place to stay fantastic location all top of the range fittings bed and sofa were both ridiculously comfy will love to come again. We got stuck coming up in the snow and the hosts ran us down to shap this morning to get picked up (left car there) they both went above and beyond for us highly reccomend

The barn is exceptional. The conversation and fittings are of the highest order. The location is beautiful and we were in the hot tub in the rain and wind looking at the stars in the sky. We had lovely fresh flowers when we arrived that you could smell throughout the barn. Also Christmas bedding and bits throughout the barn. We spent a fantastic 2 nights at wild boar barn.

I didn't like having to leave the place!

The hikes / walks in the surrounding countryside are stunning, nothing too challenging, but incredibly scenic; and all with lovely little pubs and tea rooms dotted around the start and finish points. The property's hot tub is also a fantastic asset. Even the November cold couldn't keep us away from that experience, given the beautiful views that accompany it.

Initially finding the place was a little tricky - mainly because we arrived late and in November, so it was a lot of unlit country roads. The sat nav also wasn't particularly helpful. I'd advise you to get to Bampton, look for the red telephone box, cross the cattle grid, and then continue along that road as far as you can follow it.

It was up to date and modern. Had everything you needed and games available.

The gravel driveway was a little soft and not great with a rear drive vehicle

Everything was perfect for us. Couldn’t have asked for a better location, hot tub was great. The annex is extremely modern and has everything you need for your stay.
