Senhora do Carmo Charm House

We had a wonderful stay. The staff is very friendly, the jacuzzi is amazing after a day of visiting and the breakfast was delicious. The room was very nice, the beds comfortable and everything was clean. It's a bit outside of the city center of Ponta Delgado which makes it a very calm and relaxing place to stay. To get dinner in the center it's only a 15 minute drive.

The charm house is truly full of charm. Every detail makes it a beautiful atmosphere and honestly it was difficult for me to leave in the mornings because of the ambience. Victoria checked me in and was instrumental in helping me think through nice activities for the week. I rented a car and there was always available parking outside. I loved the daily fresh detox water made with cinnamon, lemon etc. Housekeeping was exceptional but the lady's name escapes me. I'd love to go back! There's a grocery store in walking distance. The church bells ring regularly but they are soft and encouraging.

There was an occasional dog barking. I think I saw the little dog on one of my walks to the car. It did not keep me from resting :).

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at Senhora do Carmo Charm House. The room was spacious and beautifully designed, with a cosy little living area and a balcony where we enjoyed stunning sunsets. The location is super central — ideal for exploring Ponta Delgada on foot. There were lots of lovely touches throughout our stay that made it feel special — from the Rituals toiletries to the warm, homely atmosphere. We also really appreciated the daily cleaning service, which kept everything spotless. The highlight for us was the staff, especially Victoria, who was absolutely fantastic with our little girl — she loved her! Breakfast was generous and homemade, and we loved being able to use the kitchen and enjoy leftover cakes and fruit later in the day. Having teas and water available at all times was a thoughtful extra.

few things to note: sleep quality wasn’t the best — the pillows were quite firm (though kindly swapped when we asked), and being in the heart of the city, there was some street noise. The biggest downside for us as a family was the lack of a pool, which ultimately led us to change hotels. With a young child, having a pool is a real benefit — otherwise, we would have happily stayed the entire time. We truly loved the house!

Very charming old mansion in traditional Portugese building style, refurbished to meet modern day comfort standards. Incredibly friendly staff, Victoria made us feel at home right away. Comfortable beds, large and airy room. Lovely breakfast with selection of homecooked local dishes. I would suggest future guests to indicate any dietary restrictions beforehand, the house staff will likely accommodate
