Dam Dam Hostel

Clean rooms and they also cleaned the bathrooms every morning. Dorm has air conditioning and each bed has a curtain, large locker, and individual power outlet/socket. Location is good, within walking distance of everything in the town, 8 minutes walk from the bus terminal. Free cold drinking water provided. Towel and toilet paper provided. Showers worked fine when I was there. Wifi worked well in lobby/reception area only. Check out is at noon.

There is no wifi or cell signal in the dorm so you have to go outside to use the internet, but if you sit outside you get eaten alive by mosquitoes. Water in the shower was cold and water pressure was weak but this wasn't a big deal. There was a nasty looking stain on the inside of the curtain on my bed... curtain should be washed. The morning I was going to check out, I was still in bed (an hour or so before check out time) and a male staff member opened my bed curtain without warning to check if the bed was available, this was very uncomfortable, awkward, and unprofessional and made me feel like my privacy was violated and I couldn't feel relaxed in bed after that. They need to keep better track of who has checked out at reception instead of just yanking curtains open to check the beds when guests could still be there... please respect guests' privacy.

Adam the host is incredibly sweet! The rooms are so comfy with a nice bed, AC. I took several naps and I don’t generally take naps. Extremely clean. The restaurant was closed but they boiled eggs I brought every morning and helped me with anything I needed. Motorbike rental, tours, etc.

Port Barton is awesome and I had so much fun staying at Dam Dam's, thank you very much for everything! <3

comfy beds and good facilities. staff are friendly and short walk to the town. lack of water pressure for the shower, but this is a problem around the whole town, so not the hostels fault. bucket wash facilities for when shower doesn’t work.

I think it’s more a port barton issue so can’t really fault the hostel too much, but there was no running water when I was there. Also the wifi does not reach the rooms
