"A very enjoyable stay at The Lodge at Fairfield Court."

9.0

The Lodge was just as described, comfortable with a modern kitchen and bathroom. Everything was there that we needed for a short stay. Beds were great with lovely warm bedding. Log burning fire was easy to light with a good supply of wood, replenished during our stay. Helped make the living room warm and cosy especially as weather was cloudy and cold. Chris is a fantastic host and we enjoyed learning about the history of the building as well as being shown round the main house. Hope to stay again when the weather is warmer and can enjoy the outdoor facilities and garden.

The only negative, if you could call it that, is that the Lodge does not have central heating. Besides the wood burning stove, there are a number of plug in radiators to help heat the rooms - both upstairs and downstairs. As other reviewers have said, Chris is keen to make sure guests are warm enough. We also brought plenty of warm clothing! After all, it's still winter!!

Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. House was lovely, clean and tidy. Very cosy with the fire. Our children loved the outdoor space and were so happy being taken by the host to meet the horses. They loved playing with the football net and trampoline and exploring the grounds. Will definitely come back to stay.

"Birthday weekend away visiting NT properties in the area"

10.0

The Lodge is fascinating enough but what you get for your money with the setting and the outstanding hospitality of the owners when they show you round and delve in to the history of Fairfield is beyond your expectations.

Not much, it's quirky, old, it was -10° whilst we were there and Chris did everything he could to keep us warm.

"Very enjoyable. Had a lovely guided tour of the place."

Very convenient location. Good for our two dogs. The character of the place.

I suppose the lack of heating could be a concern for some. Not for us.

"Wonderful stay"

8.0

We had a lovely stay at Fairfield Lodge, even if we only stayed one night. The house and grounds are wonderful and so peaceful. Chris, our host, made us feel really welcome, told us about the incredible history of the house and showed us around the property. The lodge is comfortable and charming and we really enjoyed sitting in front of the wood stove in the evening – I could not believe how quiet it was! Our dog loved his walk and making friends with Chris’ dogs; like us, he would have liked to stay a bit longer😊. We will hopefully be able to visit Fairfield Lodge again.
