"Nice room, but don't book if driving to Ilkley, staff absent and most unhelpfull initially."

The room itself was large, too warm when I arrived (easily sorted) and very comfortable

The check in process was apalling. No staff and it was only after several phone calls that I actually got access to my key. I was told this was because I had arrived outside the house keepers hours on Friday. To be clear the house keeper was not at the hotel, but was doing house keeping via her phone. In one conversation with the person who answered the phone at the number on booking.com I was told I wouldnt be able to get in to my room that night as I had arrived too late (20:15) and hadn't paid via the link provided to me in a text message. This was for a couple of reasons, one I was extremely suspicious of paying via a link after the recent cases of booking.com hotel accounts being highjacked by fraudsters, and secondly because I was driving up from Kent, and so couldn't click any links in any case. I was also accused of being rude, which I wasn't at all, I was certainly annoyed due to having been on a long drive only to be told I wouldn't have anywhere to sleep on arriving in Ilkley, but I was not rude.

"(Overly) Quirky ....."

Good location and as quirky as the photos. Large warm room Tea and coffee facilities Friendly staff when phoned about key jammed

Molly’s bar now closed so check in is virtual. Feels a little unloved overall. Smelt damp in the entrance which was hard to find despite good directions as it is tucked away behind the property Quirky in this case means no door to toilet and basin, no wardrobe , no chest of drawers etc Bed surprisingly small

Stayed on the top floor in Fawcett. Just beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Had a drink in the bar 🍸 the bar guy was super friendly Location fab Can't wait to return
