Swang Cottage with optional hot tub

It was superbly equipped and had items I would not normally expect eg slow cooker

Comfortable, lovely location. Everything provided inside property that was needed for stay.

Upstairs on the small side but was not a problem for us.

Ein sehr gemütliches und sehr gut ausgestattetes Cottage direkt am Rande des Low Moors von Glaisdale. Sehr ruhige Lage und guter Startpunkt für Ausflüge und Wanderungen mit dem Hund in die sehr abwechslungsreiche Landschaft im North York Nationalpark: es gibt die weiten Heidegebiete, aber auch grüne Täler mit Wald, Wasser und viel Landwirtschaft. Und natürlich schöne Strände und Wanderwege an der nahen Nordseeküste. Außerdem empfehlenswert: die Stepping Stones Bakery in Lealholm 😋

The cottage was in a beautiful location with good space downstairs

We said we did not want to use the hot tub but got charged neverthless. The bedrooms were very compact with no room to move around easily

Beautiful location. Straight out of the front door and you can walk for miles or a short drive can take you to coast or many other walks. Stunning scenery. Tranquil. Quaint cottage. Hot tub was excellent.

We absolutely loved this property .. the host was amazing .. the facilities were amazing .. the location was amazing .. the log burner was amazing .. and the hot tub was a lovely bonus . We will be back

There was nothing not to like

Beautiful location , lots of walks and scenery . Really felt like a being in the middle of nowhere away from the hustle and bustle of every day life but local villages and towns easy accessible .

This beautifully decorated, quirky little cottage made for an enjoyable weekend stay. The downstairs was perfect and well equipped with everything you could think of. My husband struggled to use the smart TV as he is not very tech savvy and grumbled as he could not channel surf but the internet worked very well. Upstairs was not so good for us, the two bedrooms were quite small, we opted for the room with two single beds as they were larger than the small double. The bathroom was very small and the shower was very temperamental which was not ideal but we were made aware of this by the owner. Personally I would market it as a two person cottage as I don’t feel the upstairs and bathroom are large enough for four adults, I would turn one of the bedrooms into a luxury bathroom with shower and bath, keeping the current bathroom as a separate toilet. We paid extra for the hot tub which was nice to use at the end of the day but I found the cover difficult to move alone because of the structure built around the hot tub. It was also very cloudy and smelt strongly of chemicals, something I have not experienced with hot tubs before. Personally I felt the garden let the property down somewhat, it needed a good overhaul, updating and weeding, it wasn’t finished to the same standard as the cottage inside but has great potential to enhance the cottage. I appreciate we have had a very wet summer but I did not like the green slime on the decking and paving, there were large weeds in the paving, the pergola needed painting and after getting out the hot tub your feet got filthy on the wooden steps. The garden furniture was very basic, many of the outdoor lights didn’t work and to me the area just looked tired and lacked the imagination and flare of the inside of the cottage. We did enjoy our stay though and Rosie was very helpful.
