The Smeaton Apartment, Central City Centre

Large 2 bedroom apartment, well equipped kitchen with washing machine which was handy as we needed it unexpectedly

Although the sensors for the lighting is a good idea the ones on the staircases kept switching on and off all night with no one leaving the bedrooms.

Good location, quick to fix problems, good kitchen, very responsive staff, the owners have the Chinese takeaway at front so you are looked after, also they don't stiff you over for a security deposit which never gets refunded. What you pay for on booking.com is it.

Need dustpan and brush or a hoover. Can't clean floors. Sides of the sofas had a lot of debris in. The flat is opposite a goth pub, it was really noisy on the band nights. Flat needs some upgrades, like a toilet on top level. Three flights of stairs in the flat.

Excellent location, walkable to Barbican and town centre and free parking. Very clean, good facilities. We had an issue with hot water, I rang the host and someone came within 15 minutes to fix it. Would recommend and would book again for visits to Plymouth

The bedrooms are ok

Noisy, because it's city centre. I didn't enjoy quiet time. No ventilation, especially the kitchen i was choking, while cooking. The bathroom as well, no ventilation.

We only stayed the one night but very pleased with the location, short walk to the barbican with all the pubs and restaurants and of course the national marine aquarium. Drake circus and Cineworld close by too. Fantastic communication from the host and we found the property easily, parking is right outside the entrance. Pretty much across the road here is a Sainsbury's local and a Tesco express as well as takeaways and pubs etc. Inside very pleased as though there were a few steps up to the apartment it was laid out well and the main bedroom with 2 beds was huge, lots of space for a family. Got to say the shower was really nice and surprised by the details of toiletries and the free coffee/tea which was appreciated. Plenty of room in the living area for relaxing and instructions on WiFi and how to use the TV are in the kitchen in which if you were self catering would suit fine. All in all I would definitely recommend and when we return to Plymouth for more exploring we will happily book again.
