The Small Guest House

Our host was really helpful with all of our enquiries/ needs throughout the trip! Nice location right next to the beach. Would recommend renting bikes and exploring the island! A quiet and clean room, for the price it was good.

Bathroom wasn’t perfectly clean and there were a lot of mosquitos that came through the bathroom vent but all good apart from that.

Great location - just few minutes walk up to the hill from village. Good working AC and wifi. The owner Kasia is very helpful, she responded to my message immediately and she also helped us with forgotten ID in the scooter rental.

Photos on booking are old doesn't correspond to reality - room seems shabby now. The bathroom door can't be closed fully. The sink was leaking and ventilator was dirty. There was no closet in the room. There was mold in the corners of ceiling. The room obviously needs renovation.

The staff were super friendly and the AC is good.

The location wasn’t bad since is close to the center but you need to walk up a hill. Definitely is very hard to find and didn’t like the surroundings. Also there is no hot water.

Comfy bed, good a/c, good fan and nice sheets. Location was OK, quiet and only 2 or 3 min walk from the main strip.

WiFi didn't really work. Very patchy at best when it did work. Only one broken chair to sit on. A hammock would also help and a line to hang clothes is needed. I ghink its overpriced from what it offers. There is better value on the island.

- Wifi in my room (room 1) unfortunately very poor. If I leave my room and head towards the main building, the signal gets stronger. Out of room 1 but very unstable and unreliable and a low download rate. I can well imagine that it would have worked better for me in other rooms. - unfortunately no small drinking water bottles, shampoo or shower gel in the room - which is understandable for the rather low price - especially on the island - One evening the tap water at the sink, toilet and shower didn't work! After about 8 hours the problem was solved. However, very inconvenient as I was in the middle of showering. I understand it's the dry season and the water tank was empty. However, you could fill it up again the next day. Perhaps this should have been done a day in advance so that it would not be completely empty. - very loud construction site right next door BEFORE 7am and also some taps, which means you can't relax well! so a very loud background noise... (unfortunately the owner can't do much about this, but it still has an effect on the experience in the accommodation). - checkout by 10 a.m. I really thought a long time about the rating. Because the owner was very friendly and the room was very clean. But in the end the Wifi and the water supply and a quiet and good sleep is very important to me.

Good value for money. 5 minutes walk from the beach and restaurants.

Electricity and water cut out for a few hours during our trip, but the staff were helpful and tried to get it sorted as soon as possible.

Quiet location away from main strip, comfortable room, good air con, kettle for coffee!

Construction site opposite meant noise from 7am every day, not the nicest surroundings but no big issues

Friendly owner, speaks good english, spacious room.

There is no lobby at the guest house. When we arrived there was nobody present, we had to walk down to ask at another hotel to contact the owner. During our 3 nights stay our room was not cleaned and no towels were changed. In front of the guesthouse there were some construction works of a new building. At around 8PM the workers started karaoke en during the whole night roosters were giving their concert. So not the quiet spot as we read in other reviews. Currently new electricity poles are installed, causing a lot of power interruptions. This cannot be blamed to the guesthouse but made our stay, together with experiences above, not the best of our trip in asia. We would recommend a stay on 4K beach.

The beds were comfortable

Was so surprised that I read so many amazing reviews about this place and the hosts, and it wasn’t the case. They were not welcoming at all, (first time we had foreigner hosts in all Cambodia). Didn’t see them for the whole stay. While a storm was no electricity and no water I just sent a text to ask if there was something to go about it or how long it could take. Never got an answer. We waited for it to come back by itself. It did, and I let the host know. No answer again. We did the check out by ourselves with tout seeing anyone no message nothing. Also there are building works right in the front of the house. Of course it is not the host’s fault but should be written in the description as you CAN’T sleep after 7:45am. The other customers in the room next to us, agreed also and even booked in another place.
