Duke’s Cottage

Beautiful character cottage. Immaculately clean and had everything you could need in the kitchen. Private and cute little garden with a BBQ. Larger inside than it looks from outside - like a Tardis! Very welcoming and lovely decor. Lots of character and very sympathetic extension and renovation to bring it up to standard. Location was very useful, opposite some shops/takeaways and a short drive to the coast/marina areas. The stairs are extremely narrow and the ceilings and doorways are quite low (which we loved as it was very quirky, and we loved the signs!) but may be tricky for larger individuals. Would love to go back again in Winter and make use of the snuggly log fire and cosy living room.

Parking can be a bit tricky in the evenings; we did find a parking space in the evening but it was a couple of minutes walk up the road. The mattress in the main bedroom was a tad soft, which normally aggravates my back but surprisingly, I slept like a log, and awoke ache free, so I suppose it's not a negative as such.

The code was provided by the hosts meaning we could access the property without worrying about timings.

Due to the nature of property location it was a little inconvenient to unload our belongings as there are double yellow lines outside the property and the lay-by opposite was full meaning we had to carry luggage from a parking space down the road but we knew that before we booked

It was perfect, so clean, tidy, homely and very quaint but big enough for a family. There was everything you could need, even down to a lovely welcome bundle of tea, coffee, biscuits and milk. Such a beautiful little cottage. I would book this cottage again.

The time of year (Feb) stopped us using the lovely outdoor courtyard.

Poppy & Sunny have made this place in to a dream! Loads of original features which are done to a very high standard. We loved our time at Dukes Cottage and cannot wait to visit again
