Loch Awe Holiday Park

Few minor things not working in the property, sofa quite hard and uncomfortable but overall clean and a good base to explore the area. Still value for money even with a few niggles.

Excellent value for money. A very well sited and well finished lodge. Park staff were great and we had no issues at all.

At this location there are several rental mobile homes within a mobile-home park where most of the homes are owned permanently. This worried us but both the mobile home itself and the park were much nicer than we thought they would be. The home looked like the pictures, which is not always the case. We are a family of 5 and all three "kids" are adult or adult-sized and we fit without any problems. The layout of the home was very thoughtful and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a gas station with a small store right next to the entrance of the park. Do your shopping at Graham's Grocers in nearby Taynuilt! It is a small family store but they had everything we needed and the shop owners were super nice. The location and type of property brings the price down but the home and park was so nice that we felt that we did not "pay" for the reduced price.

The park was kind of in the middle of nowhere. You could not get anywhere on foot except the gas station. There is a games room and a playground but they are small and pretty run-down. It is not really a holiday park in the sense of a place that you could have the family spend the day at the location doing different activities. It is a good base for taking trips. Having a car is necessary.
