Southsea Historic Gem - Elegant Apartments

Wir haben uns hier sehr wohlgefühlt,gut ausgestattete Wohnung, sehr gutes Wlan, ruhig gelegen. Sehr gute Verbindung mit dem Bus. Strandpromenade gleich in der Nähe. Jederzeit würden wir wieder kommen.

Lage Nahe am Strand. Zum spazierenlaufen. Ruhige Lage. Öffentliche Parkplätze (kostenlos) vorhanden. Internet hat gut funktioniert. Handtücher und Duschgel vorhanden. Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Waschmaschine vorhanden. Allerdings wird die Wäsche in der Wohnung nicht trocknen, daher nur nutzbar, wenn die Wäsche draußen aufgehängt werden kann.

Die Wohnung war im Erdgeschoss und leicht in den Keller gebaut, dadurch ziemlich dunkel und nicht freundlich. Wir hatten äusserst laute Mieter im 1. OG (ebenfalls Urlauber). Die Nächte waren furchtbar, da man jeden Schritt gehört hat. Teilweise noch laute Schritte nachts um 1 Uhr. Die Lage war nah am Strand aber recht weit weg von der Stadt Portsmouth. Mit Bus war die Stadt dennoch gut zu erreichen. Wer allerdings etwas weg gehen möchte abends, der sollte lieber etwas um Gunwharf Quays suchen. Es ist ein kleiner Kühlschrank vorhanden mit Gefrierfach, der allerdings keine Standardgröße hat, sondern ziemlich klein ist und einen auf die Knie zwingt. Etwas seltsam. Der Preis für 2 Personen lag bei ca. 260 EUR für 2 Nächte (1 Erwachsener + 1 Kind). Der Preis rutschte kurz vor unserer Ankuft auf 197 EUR. Das habe ich nicht verstanden. Meine Nachfrage beim Vermieter blieb unbeantwortet. Der bezahlte Preis erscheint mir zu hoch. Es war weder eine moderne noch eine elegante Wohnung. Es war Standard. Allerdings sehr sauber. Zum Übernachten und mal kurz was essen ok, aber für einen längeren Aufenthalt nicht geeignet. Möglicherweise sind die Wohnungen im 1. und 2. OG ansprechender und heller. Der Vermieter war allerdings sehr zuvorkommend und hat uns eine früher Anreise (7 Uhr) und einen späten Auszug (18 Uhr) eingeräumt. Wenn dies mit dem Preis berücksichtigt, dann würde es wieder passen. Das haben wir sehr geschätzt. Tipp: Man benötigt keine Auto, der öffentliche Nahverkehr in und um Portsmouth (inklusive Southside) sind hervorragend. Tipp: Samstags um 9 Uhr ist in der Nähe der bekannte parkrun (Eastney Beach). 5km völlig entspannt laufen. War super.

Great stay , very good location, easy access to the flat , super close to the sea side. Strongly recommend will be back again.

You can hear the neighbours upstairs but that's nothing to do with the host .

The apartment absolutely exceeded our expectations! Very spacious, modern, and clean. The bed itself was very comfortable. The bathroom was big, with a big tub! We didn't make use of the kitchen, as we were out most of the day, but it looked very well-stocked with pans and utensils for people who want to stay longer and cook. We also found the check-in experience very smooth and straightforward. We also liked the location, as it was close to where we needed to be for our event. We'd happily stay again if we're back in Portsmouth!

Location was good, away from the busy streets. The host has made some efforts for comfort with nice quality crockery and cutlery, a blanket on the sofa for if it gets a bit chilly. The apartment was small - as are most apartments in the UK. Living in North America we have to adjust our expectations of UK properties, and most UK residents would likely say it was a good size. We did not feel cramped which is good. A washing machine was available for use in the bathroom which was very handy, and cleaning products, including washing powder in the form of tide pods, were provided.

The host had left a welcome leaflet saying they provided coffee and milk for the guests - there was ground coffee in packages I guess other people had used but no coffee maker or even a French press to make coffee in, and there was no milk in the fridge. The shower and toilet are absolutely pathetic - if they are 'energy saving' then it's an oxymoron - you have to flush the toilet at least 3 times to get the paper to go down and the shower water comes out so slowly you spend longer in there especially after washing your hair. The welcome leaflet said not to dry clothes on hangers but to use the drier - but there's no drier in the apartment. We did small loads, hung them on the towel warmer on hangers, kept the window open and the door closed so there was no moisture in the bathroom. A 'How to' use the washing machine would have been helpful, the first wash I did took more than two hours. There was a TV available with limited channels, a channel list would have been helpful. We were staying on the first floor, there is an apartment above and the sound proofing is atrocious - you can hear the people above talking - luckily for us the people above were not in all day but we could hear them in the morning and in the evening.
