Green ijen homestay and tour

Spacious rooms with Ac , Johns the host was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included and you have use of the kitchen to cook your own if you want something else than Nasi or mie Goreng :-).

It’s a few kilometres outside the city centre and there are no taxis or Bejac out that way so you need to sign up for that ride share app ( similar to uber to get a ride).

Do not look any further! Johan and Onkey are the best! This is a really authentic homestay (Yes, I've been on a few student exchanges in Java)! You don't need to have many plans as Johan is full of ideas that will exceed your expectations. As for climbing Ijen, we literally bypassed a whole group of annoyed looking westerners waiting at the clinic for their health certificate and waltzed on in to find that Johan had already sent through our details and it was a 5min questionnaire and blood pressure check. Our trekking guide was humble and patient and saved several tourists who had lost their way on the dark rocky path into the crater, thinking that they didn't need a guide (it's nuts, trust Johan and he'll set you up!). Other pros of Green Ijen include the cheap as chips laundromat next door, the baked sweet potato and sate kaki lima down the street, and the surprisingly epic snorkelling. We've paid more for fancier hotels, but Green Ijen was the most memorable!

Great homestay with amazing staff. They do everything for you to enjoy your stay. Really friendly and helpful. The room is clean and with AC. Great deal for the price! Highly recommend.

Johan and Okie were great hosts. Gave a great orientation for the place and were always helpful and polite. Comfortable, clean but basic accommodation at a fair price. The tour is great too!
