The Pennan Inn

Pennan is a dream location, scenic and stunning on the coast, so a hotel could have easily slummed it and still left a positive impression. But The Pennan inn went the extra mile, with comfortable rooms, great service that felt personal, and absolutely delicious meals at the restaurant. Even the WiFi was robust and top notch, which is rarely a guarantee up in the North of Scotland.

There's very little to complain about. It might have been nice to have one of the sea-facing rooms as mine didn't have much natural light, but the owners can't do much about the geography of their location so I didn't count this against them.

My room was tastefully decorated and gave a fresh clean coastal feel- even a telescope to watch for dolphins. Very nice to see oat milk provided as well as dairy on the hospitality tray. Food exceptional, staff friendly. Another stay is a must!

Die Lage des Orts Pennan und des Inns ist wirklich einzigartig. Man fühlt sich als wäre man irgendwo im Nirgendwo. Eine schmale Straße führt in den Ort hinab, wo nur ein paar Häuser sind. Die Atmosphäre dort ist einmalig. Wir spazierten den kurzen Küstenabschnitt entlang und sahen im Hafen sogar eine Seerobe. Am Abend hatten wir einen Drink in der Bar des Pennan Inn und aßen dann auch noch dort zu Abend (unbedingt reservieren bzw. Öffnungszeiten/tage beachten!) - es war alles sehr gut! Beim Frühstück konnte man aus einer Karte zwischen ein paar Gerichten auswählen und es gab auch ein kleines Buffet mit Joghurt etc. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und können die Unterkunft nur weiterempfehlen!

La situation du village, la qualité de l'accueil, la vue sur la mer

Un lieu d'exception dans un mignon petit port du bout du monde. La chambre face à la mer pour observer les fous de Bassan en train de pêcher. Un accueil des plus chaleureux, une cuisine de haut niveau savoureuse et raffinée, un copieux petit déjeuner. Le Chef est un "local hero" à n'en pas douter !

A cozy little hotel right on the seashore. Nice and clean rooms with tea/kafe and welcome biscuits and sweets. There are about ten houses in the village, most of them are summer cottages. It's hard to find more privacy from the world. But be prepared for a steep road down to the hotel. Not for the faint of heart! And now about the main thing. If you want to try Michelin class food, then this is the place for you. We've traveled a lot around the world and eaten in restaurants of different levels, from street food to 5* restaurants, but we've never eaten food of such quality and taste. Chef Peter, we take our hats off to your art.

Fantastisk opplevelse. Det er virkelig verdt å bo på noen hoteller utenfor mainstream turisme. Rett og slett helt fantastisk opplevelse, hyggelig betjening og idyllisk beliggenhet. Svært god mat også.

La gentilezza e simpatia dei proprietari. La bellezza di questo villaggio cosi speciale. La camera vista mare con binocolo. Cena e colazione ottime. Bellissima esperienza dormire qui col mare così di fronte. Tutto stupendo!
