Lovely place, with a cosy and authentic atmosphere. We loved our comfortable room with the best view of the seaside. Breakfast was great, with a buffet (bread, coffee, etc.) and a menu of cooked choices. We tried the porridge and Scottish breakfast, and they were delicious. The staff was very welcoming. The place is also an inn serving high-quality food at dinner, which is convenient as there are no other options to eat in Pennan.

The evening meal was superb. The inn was small but tastefully decorated, with reference to the 1980s film Local Hero which was partly filmed there.

The shower cubicle door needed a deep clean to remove black mold. A 5 minute job.

We particularly liked the fantastic location and the small town with its harbor. The food at the hotel was very good and we highly recommend it.

Our room was very small. We should have booked a larger room with a sea view at this hotel.
