Wild Amboseli Ndovu Cottage.

First hotel in Kenya that had everything working. The pictures don't do it justice. Such a serene place. Beautifully designed place. We loved the ambience,fresh air. You wake up to the peaceful sound of the birds chirping. The resort manager was so helpful, warm and welcoming. The place is in Amboseli national park and despite being so far away from towns had good network service and there was availability of WiFi network. And the host was super friendly and helpful.

It was far far away from any other property. At dusk we were very aware we were miles from anywhere. The tracks to the property were slow but the sat nav on Google took us right to the gate. The property was spacious and all the thinks needed to prepare meals were there in good condition. The staff were friendly and helpful

We were told that the majestic Mt Kilimanjaro can shy away from showing its magnificence. We were truly honoured to have seen the mountain early every morning and evening with an added bonus of a spectacular lightning storm on either side of the mountain on one of the evenings of our stay. This property borders Amboseli National Park and is in the conservancy area of the park. Photos of this property do not do it much justice. We were very pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it all was on our arrival. It is perfectly placed, but a fair distance from the local town and main roads. You will need a 4X4 vehicle to get there, but it is well.worth the journey. Your neighbours are wild animals (some herded cattle, sheep, and goats)and critters of the Amboseli plains. The cottages replicate their surroundings indoors and outdoors with their exquisite furniture and unique artworks. The accommodation was absolutely perfect. Clean, comfortable, and spacious with the most comfortable beds, prestine linen, and towels. The kitchen, dining, and living room were all very well equipped and comfortable. The cottages felt like a "Home Away From Home" with every detail taken into consideration. Credit needs to be given to the host Jane, who provided us with clear directions, to and from the property, and all the necessary information and guidance for our stay. With prior notice, Jane was also able to organise food supplies from small rural nearby stores for our stay. The onsite staff, Ester and Anne, were very welcoming, helpful, and maintained the standards of the property. Our first evening was rather entertaining and eventful when all the bugs and critters from the surrounding area decided to join us and dance around all the lights indoors and on the verandah. A mistake that was not repeated the following evening! Would we recommend these cottages for a stay in Amboseli rather than staying in a hotel or lodge in the National Park...YES, ABSOLUTELY!!!

LEAVING!!! We would have loved to have stayed for a few days to totally embrace the beauty of the property and its surrounding area. It was a short break as we arrived mid afternoon and settled in. Spent all day in Amboseli National Park on day two, and left at checkout time the following day.

Esther who managed the property was very nice.

I was told by the owner that it was 20 minutes from Amboseli park. It was almost an hour. The cottage is ok - rustic but what I expected. Driving a hour on rough dirt roads (lots of turnoffs, no signs) was not mentioned in the ad - and only hinted at AFTER I had paid in full. Over an hour to the nearest gas, restaurant or grocery. No A/C so the windows had to be open and the place got full of bugs (crickets etc). The cottage was ok. The location and distance from ANYTHING was not ok. We came to go the the National Park and it was just too far.

Comfortable, well stocked, clean, quiet cottages with character in a unique, scenic location. Ndovu Cottages offer a tranquil stay that isn’t commercial and sterile like most accommodation out there. The hosts are very friendly, engaging, kind, and exceptionally helpful. If you want somewhere off the tourist trail with laid back charm, this is the place to go. Jane goes above and beyond to help with any queries, and to guide you to their location.

It was a really amazing place, good to rest, Cook and with good comunication with owners and the staff.

At first a litle difficult to find, but I knew that.

Within the conservation area, so saw wildlife as travelled into the park. Lovely well equipped cottage. Esther and Jane were very helpful, arranged a few supllies we had forgotten. Lovely verandah, so could eat outside or sit and enjoy view of Mt Kilimanjaro in the breeze.

In the middle of nowhere but really close to the park. Plenty of wildlife just right around the location.

Quite difficult to find but really it's part of the charm. Requires a 4x4 to get to.

The cottage was large and very comfortable with a fantastic view over Kili in the morning. It was a bit difficult to find in the night and a bit far from main roads. Need to have a fridge and a microwave otherwise we ve been very happy and recommend this place
