Historical villa in the city center

The location was excellent, right in the town and near to the port The rooms were large and very comfortable. There was plenty of hanging space for wet snowy clothes and a washing machine which was very helpful. The cupboards were well stocked in not only cooking items but toiletries and some food! There was clean brand new cleaning cloths. Lots of thought has gone into this appartment.

On arrival my daughter's had a double bed each in one very large room. However one bed was unmade. In contacting the owner she sent a man round with a dirty smelly fitted sheet! We wanted the whole bed making up. No spare of anything there. Later in the evening bedding was brought but we had to make it up ourselves! Clearly stated 3 people. We were charged half a nights rate to stay 4 hrs overtime late check out as our flight was in the evening. Felt this could have been less! The bedrooms didn't have low dressers or mirrors. Three of us shared a bathroom mirror for all Also the lights in the master bedroom didn't work correctly. The lamp in the lounge was taken into the girls bedrooms as only one tiny light! Little adjustments would make this a superb accommodation!

Spacious, clean and all basics in place. We all liked our 2 day stay.

The exhaust in bathrooms could have been better? Not sure but we kept the windows open due to some smell. Second, this is common in residential buildings, but the stairs are circular and if you are not used to it, carrying luggage may not be very easy.

Very spacious and beds were comfortable! Toilet and living room was prepared with heaters so it was so comfortable coming in from the outside snow! Showering was also pleasant because of the heaters. Kitchen was fully equipped and the host provided new dish washing sponge which I really appreciate. WiFi was also excellent and fast.

Superb apartment! Perfect location for our family, you can easily walk everywhere in town. Everything was clean, well equipped kitchen and super comfortable beds.

Nothing

This is the first review I have ever written. Our family had travelled three countries in 2 weeks and we all agreed that this is THE BEST stay we had. We arrived Tromsø early in the morning and Torje was very nice to arrange the cleaning to finish early and let us check in early at midday so my parents can have a nice shower and a rest after a long flight. And when we walked in the apartment, it was nice and warm with the heater on! Even in the bathroom! All the rooms are so clean and tidy. The kitchen is very well-equipped with all the utensils and everything. The living room has a nice big coffee table for us to play board games and for my dad to make Chinese kungfu tea (he was very satisfied with the table😂). And the view from the balcony! Amazing! We could see the mountains across the river. Every morning, we would stand there for a little while (would definitely stay at the balcony longer if it’s not freezing outside)just to enjoy the munificent view. The last night we were there, we got to see the aurora! We could see it from our balcony. It was the highlight of our whole trip. I broke a chair 🪑 in the last evening (just sitting on the chair and it collapsed😂) and I told the housekeeper next day when we were checking out. I felt sorry about breaking a chair but she was so nice just asking if I was alright. Torje was also very kind and said it was not a problem at all. Anyway, we really really enjoyed everything and thanks to Torje who has been super helpful and generous during our stay. We would definitely recommend it to people who are traveling to Tromsø. And we would definitely stay there again if we are visiting.

Not a complaint but it would be nice if the second bedroom has a brighter light. 😉

The location is great, and the apartment is spacious which is really nice. The washing machine in the bathroom is a plus also.

On day 2, new guests for the upstairs apartment were able to enter our apartment with their keys. The locks on both apartments were the same! The guests thought they rented the whole house and were just as surprised when they saw shoes/jackets near the doorway on entering our apartment. They had no idea they were in an upstairs apartment. Luckily we were present when they arrived! The host was notified, but had to be pushed to change the lock quickly. He did so with grace the next day, but still.... how is this even possible? There is a full kitchen but basic items, like a kitchen towel and oven gloves or dish sponge were missing. We had to ask for this to be provided. Day 3 the power went out in the bathroom and one of the bedrooms. We had to notify the owner again, who then came to fix it the next day. Some dishes in the kitchen were dirty/greasy, there is no garbage bin in the bathroom, there are no curtains or blinds in the living room so there is no privacy - passers by have full view inside. There was dirty rag and sweater left in the balcony. On one of the days there was garbage all around the front of the house - the other guests didnt seem to know to tie the garbage bag tightly as it could get windy. We had to contact the owner again. All in all , this place was not worth the effort based on the cost. We just wanted to have a good holiday, but instead had to communicate with the owner quite a bit about basic things that should have already been in place. At least new guests will have the benefit of having a new front door lock.

Location, cleanliness

No curtains in family area so people were looking in as they walked by on the street.

The owner modernized the older home to make it comfortable, but he kept the charm of the historical home. I wish I could hear the walls tell of the families who grew up in the house. The location was excellent. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to visit.
