Oscar’s Hendo Retreat

We were so pleased with our stay at this cozy,clean and comfortable cottage. I was in town to assist my mother with some medical appointments and this accommodation exceeded our expectations. We were able to sit outside on the front porch and enjoy our morning coffee while birdwatching. The little house is well laid out with living area and bedrooms well defined. Our hosts were great with communication and ensuring that we understood arrival and departure instructions. They were so gracious to provide a few treats prior to our arrival and this was very helpful/thoughtful.

The road leading to the property is gravel which could be impacted by weather conditions. Throughout our stay we went slowly and were able to come and go without too much difficulty.

The hosts have worked hard to create a welcoming, cute and comfortable little house with everything guests need for a very comfortable stay. The hosts left us a generous and delicious collection of breakfast goodies, so we didn't have to go shopping right away. Thank you! The location was a little tricky, because the rental is on a dirt and gravel road. The road had been horribly damaged during Hurricane Helene and had been repaired since then, plus we were in a truck, but we arrived after dark and were surprised by the circumstances. It would have been nice to know what to expect. We came to the area to volunteer in clean up efforts after the hurricane, so we were definitely ok with coping with the road.

We would have liked information about the rough road before arriving in the dark.

Everything was super clean, they had all of the essentials covered, and we felt very comfortable in the place. Such a cute little property! The road up to the place is a little rocky, but it wasn’t a problem.

The road going in was a little rough. However, I’m sure the current hurricane had a lot to do with that.

The house was so cozy and had the most comfortable beds. It has been remodeled and was just beautiful. Had everything we needed and was spotless. We enjoyed our stay.

The road in was rough just go slow. The surroundings were not what we expected but we always felt safe.

It's a really nice 2 bedroom house, obviously newly renovated. The kitchen was fully stocked with all necessities. Beds comfortable. Nice front porch with comfortable seating and lighting. Very clean.

The house is under one of the flight patterns for nearby Asheville airport with occasional flights coming and going, which wouldn't affect anyone out sightseeing as the airport closes by midnight. Also, the road in is bit of a challenge, though doable with any car.

Everything was clean! Well stocked with cooking pans and dishes if needed. The bed was comfortable. The area is Quiet , Great place to relax. Which is what we were looking for. The WI-FI worked good too.

The only thing we did not like was the gravel drive so unsettled in several places. We had read the reviews before we booked so we knew what to expect.
