The Castle Inn

The place was very quaint, lovely little place. There were a couple of silly little things that I would have changed, overall the place amazing. Meals are fantastic, delicious, and very well presented. staff very friendly and welcoming

My niggles are benches outside, not secure at all, Yes, I am a bigger lady, but the benches were not very secure at all, not screwed into the ground. In the room, the tv only had streaming capabilities. When me and the hubby went to the room just to relax, the tv had no live TV, i.e. ITV BBC 1, so that was a little annoying, but we managed. Like I said, a couple of things, but overall, a really lovely place

Television had no Ariel and Wi-Fi wouldn’t connect

The whole place was filthy. Shower didn’t work at all and the owner didn’t bother to do anything about it . I stayed for 2 days at the property.

Checkin didn’t even ask my name. Room was clean but wasn’t checked beforehand as had very little loo roll. Want in room opposite which was open to take from the loo in that room. I thought price was quite expensive considering it didn’t include or offer breakfast. Has real potential but needs working in

Bed was comfy and the room had all the essentials.

No one around when we arrived, we were shown the room by the chef. We were locked out when we got back from our evening out. Shower in the bathroom very poor pressure and went from very cold to scorching hot, also the extractor was very noisy and squeaking. Duvets too heavy for this time of year. Struggled to sleep in the heat. No one around when we were departing, had to wait for someone to be contacted in order for us to check out. Finally, there is carpet in the bathroom, not good for hygiene and cleaning.

Clean ,comfortable room,better than a 2 star i would say

Advertised as bar/ restaurant with opening times for both but alas closed after the fri night check in,returned sat tea for food but closed,bar closed,didnt see a soul after check in on fri night for 2 days.wasnt advised to book for food or given any other instructions apart from heres the room ,heres the key.no idea who to give key to after check out 2 days later so left it in the room,check out 11am bar open at 12....if you was lucky.lack of facilitys/food as advertised let this place down.advertised as open for food on the sunday,6 of us wanting to eat and closed,the locals we met couldnt understand why it was closed on acsst and sun but fri night it was buzzing.weird! Plus side room was good,clean,comfy,decent enough.prob not stay again due to lack of restaurant facilitys which is a shame as good location for where we wanted to be.
