The Suites Inn Hotel Birmingham Merry Hill

Lovely spacious suite, very new, free parking, clean and tidy. Great location for my business trip needs. Impeccable suite and it's really sad about the lack of essential amenities, that will result in me not returning.

I hate to leave bad reviews, as it is very damaging to businesses, but I have been left with no choice or resolution from the owners or booking.com. This property is not ready to receive guests, as there was no wifi signal OR EVEN PHONE SIGNAL in the rooms, resulting in there being no TV signal either. They falsely claim the rooms are sound-proofed, but I was actually disturbed in my room by music in reception in the evening and alarms sounding in reception on the morning. They falsely claim that the kitchen is well-equipped, but despite having a stove top and oven, there are no utensils like wooden spoons or spatulas to cook with. I was very pleasant in my feedback to the owner, flagging these basic amenities weren't available, and they were a matter of health and safety particularly with there not being phone signal. I also addressed it was false advertising regarding the well equipped kitchen and the sound-proofed rooms. They were not impolite, just resistant to accept the lack of amenities advertised. I had to encourage they get signal boosters for phone reception or at least note lack of signal in the listing, which they didn't seem to think was important. After a lot of back and forth I had to take this directly to booking.com who didn't take this seriously either (£14.87 refund). I hope my review warns people to the pros and cons of the facility, particularly if they need access to wifi and phone signal (I had to sit in the hallway to do work on my laptop and make phone calls). I hope it also encourages the owner and booking.com to correct the listing and fix the issues, even if I don't get the partial refund I have been pursuing (more than £14.87!).

Warm, clean and spacious.

Difficulty telephoning to check accessibility. Gave us a ground floor apartment after expressing inability to get to upper floor apartment. Made up sofa bed as alternative which wasn't very comfortable.

On arrival was asked for £100 booking deposit contrary to the email confirmation saying I will not be charged any more on arrival. I was told I can cancel my booking if I can’t pay it (I drove 2hours from london). Had I known prior to arrival this would have been no issue however this was Ended up paying the fee and was told I would get refund on check out which didn’t happen & now having to call booking.com to sort it. Underneath bedsheets the mattress had blood and yellow stains, sofa and chair in the property were also not the cleanest. Not the easiest to find either.

Could have been told on the booking that on arrival there would be £100 charge. Booking actually said the OPPOSITE!! That I wouldn’t be charged anything further. New mattress or perhaps mattress cleaning needed for room b7.

The room was spacious and front desk lady was nice

The room was filthy and stank of stale smoke, there was rubbish under the sofa and in cupboards, some of the toiletries in the bathroom were empty
