Mara River Safari Lodge Bali

There was so much to do here at the Safari lodge, we stayed here at the end of our holiday so we didn’t feel like going anywhere outside the resort but we spent 3 days wandering around the zoo, the marine park (does cost extra) and just lounging in the pool. The staff were incredible, especially Fernando and Bela, they were sure to remember names and go above and beyond to make sure you felt looked after. Every meal you look out at the lions enclosure through the glass walls that surround the restaurant, so breakfast with the lions is included in the stay. I recommend booking the night safari, they get the tigers to climb on the cage and everything. You get the opportunity to feed or hold / pat so many animals it’s such a wonderful experience (this is also quite cheap to do). The pool over looks the grazing grounds of zebras, giraffes and the rhino named Nelson, it’s such a beautiful sight. Apart from the cost of staying at the resort everything is quite cheap. Food is amazing, the buffet is great and they have many selections for all cultures to have a taste of home but also try something different. They also go through the room right after you leave to check you haven’t missed anything, they chased us down to give us the leftover beer we brought and left in the fridge. Such a lovely place with a lovely culture. It’s definitely worth the money!

Views from the rooms were very special. The lions were breath taking as you could see these through the restaurant window. You even got a sneak peak via the toilet windows. Bus Safari was good. Varuna Water Show was amazing with a private tour around the marine park, the food was really good. The pool had a great view of the animals. There was a good timetable to be able to feed the animals.

The night safari in the caged van wasn’t good value for money as it was over within 10-15 mins and it was minimal view. Still a good experience. Breakfast buffet wasn’t great as the hot food was cold, however when we complained they did cook us fresh food the following morning and went above and beyond to rectify this.

The room was amazing , the animals there when you wake up , lots to choose from at breakfast while watching the lions. Staff were superb and so friendly . Had an amazing stay

Didn’t like only one option for a restaurant

The golf buggy drivers were the very best ever. They helped me so much as I have very poor mobility. The Liam restaurant staff are also amazing 11/10 . This truly was a memorable family vacation and a million thank you’d for my birthday celebrations. I was very happy with all the beautiful Mara Safari staff!! Probably my fav family holiday this decade!!

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property.

Very friendly staff and services was great. Great experiences for the family and little ones.

The hotel felt abit old, I didn’t like the fact that inside there was geckos and ants/spiders in the bathroom sink

Les animaux.

Hygiène déplorable. Nos draps et serviettes n'ont pas été changés. Presence de moisissure. Odeurs nauséabondes. Vraiment déçu.
