Chic Cottage near the Lower French Quarter

We. Loved. This. Place. Everything from the host, to the communication, to the area, to the amenities, to the place itself…everything was perfect. The place: it’s bigger than the pics suggest. The bedroom offers a ton of room, the en suite bathroom is spacious, and the downstairs living/kitchen is super spacious. The bed was perfectly firm. The sofa was comfy. The kitchen was just the right size for a vacation stay. The availability of a washer and dryer is a huge bonus. The little courtyard, complete with gas lamps, ample seating, great natural light, and a bonus pooch, was great. The furniture and the design of the place is quintessential New Orleans. It’s such a perfect balance between old and new. The area: I really don’t think my wife and I will be staying outside the Marigny again. We frequent New Orleans, and the Marigny has turned out to be our favorite part of town. Bars, restaurants, and the French quarter are all within a comfortable walking distance. We walked around during the day and night, and always felt safe and comfortable. The host: SUPER communicative, super accommodating. We didn’t meet the host, but we did meet who I assume was her dog, Napoleon. He was a friendly, rambunctious little pup. ❤️ Our host gave clear information and answered the few minor questions we had.

Loved the location, vibe and size of the space. The styling was cute and it felt really cosy.

I loved the place so these aren’t major criticisms but some things to note: The bedroom and bathroom are up a flight of stairs which can be quite difficult with a suitcase. The pull out sofa is downstairs with no blinds on the windows, looking directly into the hosts home and shared outdoor area with another rental. The chest that was meant to have the sheets and bedding for the pull out sofa was empty with a used fitted sheet and pillow case scrunched up inside, we made do without it though. Shower curtain rail not fixed to the wall which was quite dangerous. Kitchen could use more bowls, glasses and mugs.

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The location is great, it’s quiet and spacious, the bed is luxe, just what I needed during a short, stressful run.
