The Arvind Villa Ubud

So quiet and peaceful, about 4or 5 miles from the centre of Ubud opposite a rice field. Just a short walk away is an excellent restaurant that was perfect for breakfast. Hosts were super helpful. What a lovely villa!

When arriving to the villa, we were amazed about how modern and luxurious it was.

When we arrived at the villa and had a look around, we noticed a large spider in the bathroom. We didn’t mind this as we live in Australia and we are used to huntsman spiders. However, when we removed the spider we also noticed a nest of baby spiders in the corner of the ceiling. There are gaps between the windows and the door frames due to the style of the Balinese Villa. We understood with previous reviews that there was a possibility of having an odd insect here and there. Within 2 hours of being in the villa we noticed another large spider on the drop ceiling. We also found ants and mosquitoes in our bed as well as geckos in the bathroom. As I have said above we are used to some insects and we know it is normal to experience these insects in Ubud especially beside rice fields. However, we had only been in the villa for 2 hours. The doors and windows had been closed the whole time we were there. I had booked this Villa to celebrate my partners birthday but due to the inconvenience of this issue and the amount of money we had paid for a luxurious and relaxing stay we had to opt to book in another hotel not far from the villa on the night on which we arrived. I had emailed the Villa regarding my concern and offered to pay for 2 nights for their inconvenience but thought it was fair to refund the remaining nights of the stay. I was sent a reply that this is normal here in Ubud and there is nothing more that can be done and offered us to stay an extra night for free. After highlighting all of the issues above via email to the manager I was received with poor consumer service and communication to resolve this problem and I am extremely disappointed as we received no refund of any kind. We definitely will not be staying here again and unless you are happy staying in a “4 star” villa full of insects throughout your stay then do not waste your money and stay here.

We found this property but chance. When the place we originally booked didn’t live up to expectations (or pictures) we needed to find somewhere last min and quite quickly. Thank God this villa was available. It didn’t disappoint and looks exactly like the pictures. The staff were friendly and allowed us to check in early. The location, although a bit far from the action, was quiet and peaceful. Nice and clean, and well maintained. We enjoyed our time here.

It’s a shame breakfast wasn’t available as an option although ordering or popping out for food was easy

The staff were so incredible. Would greet us every single time we’d step outside our villa. Everytime we’d need help with bags they were always happy to help you out

The place was clean and big the internet was great and the location 7 minutes by motor bike to center of ubud. And the stuff was very very nice they help me the motor rent.

It’s because near to the garden please do not turn the light between sun set its attract allot of animals like bug after that is ok

There were too many insects and worms. The water in the pool and bathroom had some smell. Staff is not available 24 hours. They come for limited time only.

A beautiful private villa. Pool and room were kept clean, everything in close proximity. A lovely home from home vibe with kitchenette, comfortable living space, bed very comfortable and bathroom kept clean.

Good, quiet location that has a few small restaurants nearby. Also, it's nearby roads are quite beautiful to drive on, adds a nice vibe to the location. The villa is modern, clean, with spacious rooms. It has a small outdoor pool that was quite nice to relax in. I would go again and I have recommended it to friends that are planning to go near Ubud.

Better protection vs outside heath or small bugs (mosquito nest at entrance, or doors that fully close - the current ones have some small spaces, like most of Bali accommodation have) - not a deal breaker
