Delightful Ely house Bright and warm with cathedral view

The property was wonderful. Set back from the road, private, well appointed, well maintained and spacious. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cafetières, pots and pans etc. great views of the garden. Friendly host. Off road parking at the property was a real bonus.

We liked everything about the property and its location. Delightful indeed! It is set amidst beautifully tended and productive gardens with scenic views from all the windows and a glimpse of Ely cathedral. The location is wonderful, with safe parking on the drive and just a ten minutes walk to the cathedral. Our hosts were friendly and generous. The apartment is light, roomy, well equipped, and furnished beautifully and comfortably. Plus a sunny and secluded patio. Ripe figs plucked for breakfast - magical! We will be returning at a later date when we would like to stay for longer.

The property was beautifully kept, it was bright, sunny and warm - with lots of windows throughout letting in natural light. The outlook is stunning - the property is within the gorgeous garden belonging to the main house, and has a patio outside, which you can access through French doors - sitting outside on the chairs, it feels like you are in your own enchanted little garden. It has a large downstairs which has a lounge, kitchen and dining area, with a separate shower and WC, sofas and a huge TV. The stairs take you up to another large room, with windows on both sides and a cute Juliette balcony that gives a great view over the whole garden....the fig tree right outside of the balcony is a plus too as the owners were very kind letting me pick the ripe fresh figs! Upstairs there is a seating area with a sofa, another huge TV, coffee table, cupboards for clothes, another kitchen area with table and chairs and another super shower/WC room. The wooden floorboards throughout add warmth and charm to the property, the furnishings are eclectic and really go well with the feel of the property. Everything you could ever need is there for you - crockery, utensils, toilet roll, loads of towels, tea towels, coffee machine (with coffee supplies), shower gel, soap, washing up liquid, herbs, salt, pepper etc. Emily and her family even left me a pint of milk and a Kit Kat for when I arrived! I found the leaflets in the property with information about the area really helpful. The property has a lovely view of the Cathedral from upstairs and the property is in easy reach of it as well as all of the shops, and high street. A handy little Co op is a 5 minute walk away. Emily and her family were perfect hosts. They were readily available if I needed them, yet discreet and quiet so I felt I was in my very own property. One day I found a bag of homegrown tomatoes left on the door handle-so kind! I will definitely be coming back to this property when I stay in Ely again.
