Nice property. Decorated elegantly. Two large bedrooms. Three bathrooms. John is a nice person. He kept a nice lemon cake for us too in the fridge and gave us on the arrival.

Paid parking. However it was a flat rate of £2 from 6 pm till 8am.

Quirky comfortable & well located

The property was excellently furnished, and very comfortable.

There was nothing wrong with the property.

The host John was friendly, the cottage was quaint, clean, comfortable and ideally located for walking to seafront.

The property was clean & tidy. The rooms were good size and all really well looked after. The bed was comfortable and we was given complementary milk and a lemon drizzle cake. Bathrooms were spotless and facilities were really good overall. Kitchen was clean as tidy. Ironing board and iron were a nice touch as well we’re going to a wedding so needed to freshen up our clothes. The location is perfect. Close to all shops and the seafront.

The phone call from booking.com saying the landlord had reported more people and children in the property than stated. We had family over making wedding favours, who left in the late evening. After feeling as though we were being watched and wondering how the landlord would come to that conclusion we eventually found a camera in the hallway. There are no notices stating there are cameras or that we were being recorded. I totally understand as to why he would put them up as it’s a lovely property but a heads up would be nice, even a small notice to let us know we’re were being recorded.

Location and facilities. John met us and allowed us to drop bags off even though he was still cleaning. Very friendly.

Great location. In the centre of town but just set back off the road. Easy access to shops, beach, etc. Very clean and comfortable accommodation. The 'garden' area outside is private and a great additional space. There is a pay and display car park next to the property, which is really convenient (see also comments below). John (owner) was very helpful in answering questions before and after we arrived.

No major complaints, just niggles/suggestions: 1. John explained that there is a free car park nearby. We found two but one is a bit of a hike and the other is for about 10 cars and was always full. However, we realised that you can buy a multi-day car park permit (about £10/day) and use this for a large number of car parks across the island including the one next to the property. This was very convenient for parking in Ventnor but also for trips around the island. 2. The bedrooms don't have wardrobes. Fortunately we took some coat hangers and hung clothes at the end of the or on doors. 3. It would have bene helpful to have an information pack in the cottage. We couldn't figure out how to access TV channels (other than some on-demand like BBC iplayer). We also couldn't work out what the setup is for recycling bottles, plastics, paper, etc. A few notes in an information sheet in the property would have been helpful.

It felt like a home from home. There was lots of space and the decor was charming! Very clean and comfortable with everything we needed during our time there. En-suites in both bedrooms were a nice bonus. TVs in the bedrooms were a nice touch. In a lovely quiet part of the IOW. Also lovely of the host to leave a cake and some milk for us.

It was perfect.

Property was a good size with great facilities and tasteful decor. It was well equipped with a fridge/freezer and washing machine. Conveniently placed for shops and local services
