"Fantastic cottage"

9.0

The cottage was so cosy and well equipped. We loved the old feel but with mod cons. Hot tub was a bonus.

The hot tub was difficult to start but the owner was very helpful when called about it.

"Brilliant, would love to stay again."

Lots of room, nice decorations, good tv and wifi. Open fire with wood provided was great. Nice welcome basket. Shower was good, very quiet area. Had everything you would need for a short or long stay.

"Quiet, cozy stay"

6.0

The cottage was appointed well with all the amenities needed for our scheduled 4 night stay. Lovely touches like a welcome basket and the fire was stocked and ready to be lit as we arrived later in the afternoon. Couldn't fault the cleanliness of the property and the cottage manual was easy to follow. Very well placed for visiting Stonehenge and Bath. It was quiet and with the fire lit in the evening, it was very relaxing. There was lots of staple products that had been left behind (sugar, spices, salt, etc) so if you'd forgotten something, there was the possibility of what you needed being present. This was a nice touch (although we had come fully prepared) :)

We stay away several times a year and always book an accommodation with a hot tub as it's lovely to come home to after a long day of sightseeing. Unfortunately, the accommodation uses a "pay as you go" meter and it is very difficult to source £1 and £2 coins to keep the meter fed. On our first night, the hot tub wasn't ready so we set it up for night 2 (or thought we had). Pushed the power button and headed out for our long day of sightseeing only to return and find out that the heating hadn't turned on so we paid for a full day of running the pump but no hot water. We had to contact the Manager who told us to hit the power button 5 or 6 times until we heard a large glug of water and then it would heat up. This worked but the hot tub wasn't ready that evening as it took about 4 hours to reach the desired heat. We finally managed to make use of it on night 3 but ended up losing £8 as there is now way to recoup overpayments. Personally, we would prefer to pay more for the accommodation overall and have a fuss-free use of the hot tub. This one was just too tricky to manage. The accommodation also lost electricity and heating on our 2nd night so we returned from our day out to discover the boiler had gone and we had no hot water for baths or showers and the heating hadn't gone on. Our meal, which we had put in the slow cooker before we left hadn't cooked so again, very disappointed and a very late dinner. Such a shame as it's a lovely cottage and is well placed for visiting Stonehenge and Bath but those few things did spoil our experience a bit. It's only fair to mention that once we realised the boiler had gone out, it was able to be reset quickly and we did have use of hot water.

"Lovely cottage in a lovely little village, and very handy for Stone Henge"

7.0

No coffee, (tea, sugar etc but the coffee jar was empty), and the hob was tricky to operate. Also not too impressed having to strip our own beds.
