Nothing to dislike

This is a lovely property in a very nice quiet street a short walk from the centre of York and a short distance in the opposite direction to Yorks very popular Bishy Road. There is parking available on the street and the hosts issue a permit for this. I’ve stayed in lots of properties in York and having available parking is a bonus. The actual property itself is very comfortable. As soon as we let ourselves in we were greeted by a lovely coconut smell and we could see how clean everywhere was. There was a small but very cute,well appointed kitchen to the rear of the property and a delightful little garden to sit out in. It was very peaceful and I enjoyed a morning coffee out there. I imagine this would be lovely to sit in on a summers evening. The living room was very comfortable with lots of art work and plants with a Television. Upstairs the bedrooms were very comfortable and again very nicely decorated. I was very pleased with everything the property had to offer and we really enjoyed our stay. The wine and kettle chips provided by the host was a very welcoming little extra. It was much appreciated as was the milk in the fridge.

I really didn’t want to find fault with this property however need to mention the shower. Unfortunately I found it so difficult getting in and out of the shower as it was just too high for me. It wouldn’t be suitable for anyone with mobility issues. For safety I do think a grab rail would be helpful. It might spoil the aesthetic but something like this is needed. It’s difficult trying to get out of the shower especially when it’s wet and I almost slipped.

The house was easy to find and in a residential location. The street was quiet. The house was very well equipped and had everything that was needed for a short break. The hosts left a wee welcome package which was lovely. It was clean and tidy. The hosts were easy to contact and communicated well with us. There is a cracking wee pub just a couple of streets down (The Golden Ball) which was nice and cozy.

Im not sure that there was anything that we didn't like. One very small comment ( and I wouldnt let it stop me booking again) was that the glasses in the kitchen were plastic, I fully understand why but glass may have been nicer.
