Modern Apartment in De Waterkant l Private Rooftop

After reading the various previous comments on the website, we were expecting a cozy, neat apartment with DSTV/Netflix etc. 24 hours prior check-in I was informed the en-suite shower was leaking so not to be used. Upon check-in we were informed the DSTV/netflix accounts had been suspended due to non-payment by the owner. The carpets in the bedrooms were very dirty. The kitchen wall is covered in rising damp which is a pity as this gives off a certain dank smell. The rooftop terrace is equipped with a hot tub that is not operational (we didn't care about that as it is not something we wanted to do but that is another facility advertised but not available). On the second night we lost access to the internet. On our last night the downstairs neighbours decided to use their hot tub (which works with coal) so we were totally smoked-out inside our bedrooms. This is a great pity as this unit is very well located, with great views of table mountain and city lights at night, close to great restaurants and all in all lovely. It just need a good revamp before it gets advertised again.

The jacuzzi wasn’t working and the shower for the 2nd bathroom also wasn’t working. There were random stain marks on the carpet and counters . There’s also a huge painting that was supposed to be in the kitchen , it wasn’t there . That’s the piece that sold me on booking the place . All of this we found out on the day of arrival through The concierge lady who also made us wait an hour outside with our suitcases before delivering the keys. She even rushed through them. A month prior we had asked about the jacuzzi because of the reviews from the previous booking and the message was ignored

Great facilities especially kitchen appliancies, aircons, TVs and grill. Very comfortable. Incredible rooftop balcony with great 360 views. Everything was clean. Fantastic location. Excellent communication with property managers

Two roaches in bathroom of main bedroom. Bed is a bit short. Would have liked some low-light lamps in bedrooms and lounge and umbrella and a light on the rooftop

The agency asked me to pay via their web site otherwise the reservation would be cancelled. Then booking charged my credit card again. after contacting booking service I got one payment back.
