Common areas especially communal kitchen, dining area not cleaned well. Library full of spiders and not cleaned. My room had wooden shutters and no glass on the windows. Spider found in room, had to buy insecticide. Concrete floors no rugs. Good air conditioning.

I think for what you pay it’s pretty good value for money. Our private room was a great size and clean. If you want to stay out of the hustle of San Juan then this is a good spot as you can jsut walk to Maderas beach which is convenient.

Definitely was very noisey, but we were there on a Saturday night..

The facilities are very nice, room is comfortable and dark. There are several activities to perform daily. Restaurant food and drinks are good.

The cleanliness of shared bathrooms is not the best. The staff do not communicate with each other so a sale or activity wouldn`t happen or they would overcharge us without applying the special offers. All problems were resolved but they still do happen

Located in the foothills about 600 meters from Playa Maderas, Selina Maderas is the best hostel I have ever been a guest at. With a modern yet rustic and festive vibe, an excellent and helpful staff, state of the art pool you definitely want to stay here if visiting this beach and area. The co working space is excellent with views of the mountains, air conditioning, and great Wi-Fi speed. I teach online and did not have any issues. There is plenty to do in the evening and you can arrange a tour, or just chill in any of the comfortable rooms, whether opting for a shared or private room. I stayed in both. I definitely would like to visit again. If you surf, you can rent a board here and pick it up at the beautiful Playa Maderas. Thank you to the wonderful staff for being so accommodating and kind.
