Mickledale & Langriggs at Wetheral Cottages

The location is close to a playground, and a short drive from all necessary amenities. it's a little cul-de-sac which is reasonably safe for kids and the private garden area is only shared with other holiday guests.

The cottages form part of a compound of several holiday lets in close proximity - there's a steady coming and going of people. However, these two cottages aren't adjoining and the courtyard between them is cobbles and very slippery. We didn't find the space to be clean and with both showers in dire need for repair. The place is poorly equipped for groups and better suited to families of 4 or 5 for a stay. The kitchens are extremely basic in equipment and you shouldn't expect to do much cooking during your stay. The car park is very small and doesn't have enough capacity for the number of visitors staying at Wetheral Cottages.

V cosy, welcoming, chocolates and posh coffee machine. Heating already on. Plenty of washy up liquid/surface cleaner. Really good white goods. Instruction manuals available. Lovely location, good things to see close by, Long Meg & Her Daughters. Nice co-op at Lazonby (a half hour walk away) Good parking.

Someone used the dryer room at night which woke my 85y old mother. Ice maker stained. Sweet wrapper & Pokémon type cards down side of sofa. No egg timer in boggle! Pint glasses would be useful. Only 4 dishwasher tabs. Previous client left hotplates on (cooker off at wall)

The cottages are beautiful with lots of lovely features. We had everything we needed and loved every minute. There were added extras to make our stay extra special including books and games and they have a little enclosed paddock where you can take take the dog... Complete with sheep watching you 😊 The hosts are lovely, they provided clear instructions to ensure our stay was perfect. The beds are comfy and the poms are spacious, except the kitchen, but it has everything you need. Thank you so much

We were very happy and didn't dislike anything. The only things I could say were that I didn't think to bring cooking/vegetable oil so it would've been slightly better to have some and some scissors would've been handy. The kettle needs replacing/descaling however they have a lovely tassimo machine for people who like coffee and hot chocolate... You just can't make a cup of tea with it but we managed with a pan 😊

The shower was not working. We were unable to shower at the property. Had to use another property.
