Lady of the house was charming, and bed was reasonably comfortable.

Unfortunately this is the worst place we have ever stayed in that we have booked through Booking.com The property from outside looked nothing like picture on Booking.com It is very scruffy, windows in particular are appalling. Inside, our room and bathroom were also very scruffy. Peeling paint (hardly any left on the radiator), peeling wallpaper, cracks in ceilings, exposed wall in bathroom, dirry carpet in bedroom. Unable to lock the room when we went out to eat. No wardrobe. Could not get normal channels on TV. NO HOT WATER (had to have a cold shower). Eventually found a switch in bathroom cupboard that I thought was an immersion heater (after I had cold shower), put it on until we came back from Dinner. Still no hot water. Had to wash in cold water Sunday morning. Could not face another cold shower! Could not wait to leave in fact. All in all, extremely disappointed and to be honest, I feel we should get some money back. I appreciate that this is a private property and do not wish to be unkind to the home owners. However, I have to be honest. I am very annoyed with Booking.com and shall be contacting them direct, with the photograps we took.

Property is in a nice location.

It is need of a lot of work. It’s in a very sorry state but will be nice if some renovations were done and finished. It was like being in a half finished project. Overpriced for what it currently is.

Harminder and their family were so friendly and helpful - even lending me a pump when I got a flat on my bike.

Convenient to our family garden party location.

This former stately home has fallen into severe disrepair by previous owners and the current owners appear to be in the process of renovation works. We were informed at 4 PM on the day before our arrival that a serious plumbing leak above our ensuite bathroom had caused damage and we were unable to use the room. The owners offered to cancel our booking but as this was last-minute and the Silverstone Grand Prix weekend, we were unable to find alternative accommodation. The owners therefore allowed us to use at a discount' their staff rooms (which were also in terrible condition and suffering severe floor settlement and draughty windows) on the top floor where repair men were working on the ancient plumbing. Shared toilet and basic shower facilities were available on the first floor, which again were extremely basic and accessed via two staircases. We never inspected our previously booked ensuite accommodation. This appeared to be accessed via a previous tradesman rear entrance! We do not consider this is suitable accommodation for letting at the moment without thorough renovation works completed to a high standard and all health and safety matters attended to you.

Very basic but the host was very welcoming. For the price it was worth the money, will stay again. Would suit a work traveller on a budget.
