Seaview Retreat Newbiggan by The Sea

An amazing place to stay Loved everything about it. The accommodation was exceptional and the small extras ie. Towels shampoo condiments toilet paper thermal cup binoculars ect ect ect, an amazing bonus. Finally what a wonderful host we had very few issues but our communication and her genuine interest in how we were enjoying our stay was fantastic. We would stay every weekend if possible.

The view over the sea from the caravan is fantastic. All of below points have been told to the cleaner/ booker. We had no idea who was the owner! We think she tried to be helpful.

1. The toilet seat broken off all 5 days. Cleaner/ booking person informed us on our arrival. Was a bank hol so no workmen which was okay but didn't appear all week and feel sorry for anyone staying after us as it couldn't be used. 2. Curtains had been removed in lounge area and no privacy at all.External light post was very bright and shone into our lounge. 3. No information about the home or surrounding area( how to start the boiler,was very cold the first day and night). 4. Shower door did not join with the other door so big gap. Shower pole was very wobbly so hand held the shower head. 5. Couldn't find an iron or hairdryer. 6.fridge was so cold it froze the contents but was on lowest temp number.

Amazing view and so quiet ..a few minutes to the beach and not far to the town I loved having my morning coffee on the balcony watching the sunrise

The view but it was very misleading as the picture is false

When we booked it should have been a 3 bedroom house and as there was no refund we were very disappointed when we got there and it was a mobile home. It wasn't very clean and was very dusty and the beds were supposed to be made up and they weren't all done. Also 3 people and only 2 dining chairs. They were supposed to drop another one off but they didn't. The pillows were dirty and just looked shabby. Would have been happy paying £300 but was way overpriced as I thought it was a house. Also there was no smoke alarm

The view was excellent. The beaches and the scenery are lovely.

We didn't meet any staff on site. We just followed the messages sent through. On arrival, the outside is in need of repairs. I noticed the accommodation had a strange smell once we entered. It's not a clean smell. When going from room to room, we did notice the place was in dire need of a little TLC. The sink in the main bathroom was cracked, and the overflow was dirty. ( i did notify the people directly about this,straight away as i didn't want to be liable for something. Also, no one thought to tell us that the accommodation needs a bit of a fix up. I had no response to this message.) Some of the towels in the accommodation were bleach stained. I wasn't keen on the bedding, and unfortunately, I was confident they were as cleaned as we'd have liked. In the living room, the drawers in the bookshelf unit are broken, and the lock on the doors leading to the decking is on its last legs. The kitchen plinths are falling away. The microwave was disgusting. We didn't feel comfortable using it, even though I did clean it. The dishes needed to be re washed before using them. The toilet in the en-suit didn't seem to have a powerful flush. There weren't many places to eat in the Newbiggan area. (We travelled with our dog, so we needed a place that allowed him.)We walked from pub to pub, some were changing their menus so couldn't accommodate. Others on their websites said they did food, but when we got there, they didn't. In the end, we got takeaway, and the staff in the Old Ship said we could eat our food there. So that was nice of them.
