"It was a pleasure to stay there and we would like to return."

10.0

All the facilities, the quality of everything, the artwork. It was very cool, stylish and imaginative. There was a beautiful back garden area with undercover chairs and very pretty lights and exotic plants. Everything was very equipped and well-thought out. We also loved the location in the centre of the village but in an interesting quiet road. The owners had thought of everything. The bathroom was large and again very stylish with a very good shower and a free-standing bath. We didn’t use the gym or the downstairs television room but they too looked very impressive.

Think we liked everything.

"Ok for a pit stop. Beware of building site noise."

6.0

No ability to make a good coffee as machine was broken. Ground Coffee beans in cupboard but no simple café tière or mocha pot to use them! Towels still damp from the wash. Building site noise from early in the morning which was disturbing.

Very comfortable stay with great facilities. Excellently furnished. Wish we could have stayed longer.

A catetiere would have finished off the experience perfectly.

A lovely comfortable clean property in a very quiet location. Everything you needed for a comfortable stay.

A little bit concerned by the lack of door to the basement.

"Great British countryside family experience in a cozy home"

10.0

Lovely house with a beautiful little garden. Very well equipped (OK Google, play some relaxing music 😊). Quiet and comfortable. The TV room and gym in the basement are great. The rooms are big enough, the beds are very comfortable, and the kitchen has all you need to cook. The living room is warm and cozy. Parking is easy. The supermarket is a 5-minute walk away, there are restaurants nearby, the village is nice and peaceful, and it’s a quick drive to Oadby or Leicester.

A couple of things about the description on Booking: it mentions 2 bathrooms. In fact, there is only one (a great one, by the way) with the toilet inside. So with 5 people, as we were, we had to wait sometimes. Also, it does not state clearly that the house is narrow with rooms spread across 4 storeys connected by steep staircases. While it was fun for me and my daughter (and it’s nice to discover a typical British house of this type), it was clearly difficult to move around for the 84-year-old grandma staying with us. The kitchen and living room are perfect for 4 people, but it lacked some chairs to accommodate all 5 of us at the kitchen table (we had to bring downstairs the only stool found in one of the rooms upstairs). So a couple of additional stools or foldable chairs would be a nice add-on. Overall, it was a great experience and 4 of us really enjoyed it. But considering Grandma, I probably would not have booked if I had known all this.
