Hôtel très à l’écart , et la nuit il est compliqué de trouver un taxi ou un tuk tuk pour vous ramener d’un restaurant alentour car il faut traverser le parc naturel et donc des éléphants traversent les routes la nuit , ce qui les rend dangeureuses . On aurait bien aimé être informés par l’hôtel , c’est logique mais on n’y avait pas pensé . Pour le reste nous avions réservé deux nuits et sommes restés une seule nuit . Chambre minimaliste , pas de moustiquaire , Clim bloquée sur une seule température , beaucoup d’insectes dans les salles de bains, odeur de moisissures dans la chambre des enfants… Les photos sont trompeuses et la piscine ne fait pas tout

Kind staff

Neither the rooms or the pool were clean. There was funges/mold in the rooms which gave a strong smell of mold. Additionally, one of the rooms had cockroaches. The staff is kindhearted, but we had trouble communicating.

We had a wonderful stay at Kingfisher Resort & Retreat in Sigiriya. The newly added swimming pool was a highlight, clean, inviting and perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The rooms were spotless and well maintained, offering everything we needed for a comfortable stay. What truly stood out was the hospitality of the owner. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and cared for. Every interaction was warm and genuine, and it’s clear that a lot of heart goes into running the place. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway with great service and a refreshing pool to unwind in.
