Room was beautiful and clean. Great hosts

Room was simple but comfortable, with all the necessary amenities like ac (didn’t need it so didn’t try if it worked), a kettle, etc. I paid very little for it and in that sense a private room with shower is a luxury. I called ahead for dinner and it was ready for arrival. When I decided to leave early they were kind enough to reimburse me for the night that I didn’t use even though they didn’t have to based on my late check out time.

When I booked it, this place had a 9.9 rating, in my opinion it doesn’t deserve that for what it offers. My room didn’t have much atmosphere and frogs were hopping around in it. They didn’t really have someone on the premises I could talk to because there was only a trainee with limited English skill. So I didn’t really get a full welcome briefing nor did I feel much interest in making it the best experience possible, in contrast to many of the guest houses I stayed in where the host families really go out of their way to make you have a good time. Communication through WhatsApp with the manager did help me get the necessary basic information. In the end I felt lonely in a place that seemed deserted, and decided to leave for an area of Sigiriya with much more tourists (near Roy’s villa). So don’t go if you’re a solo traveler looking to make friends, but it could be fine for a couple on a budget that doesn’t need much luxury.

The location is good for us, considering we have a local driver contracted. This place is around 16 min to Sigirila Lion Rock, so you can arrive early without stress. Breakfast was ok. and the staff was friendly. This place has a beautiful garden and I'd recommend for a yoga retreat.

We really enjoyed the stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are well kept and comfortable and the entire place was very quiet and refreshing and most importantly, it was a value for money stay. Thank you!

I had a wonderful one-day stay at Kingfisher Resort and Retreat, Sigiriya. The resort is beautifully nestled in nature, offering a serene and relaxing environment. The highlight of my visit was the Prana Ayurveda Asapuwa spa, where the service was absolutely excellent and rejuvenating. The staff were professional and attentive. The hotel itself is clean, nature-friendly, and well-maintained. The breakfast was delicious, with a variety of fresh and flavorful options. Highly recommend this peaceful retreat! 😊
