Sandford Springs Hotel and Golf Club

I have been to stay here several times and I am never dissatisfied. It is very comfortable, convenient and a pleasant place to spend time with very attractive grounds. Twice I have left items behind and both times the items have been restored to me by the lovely staff and their lost property system.

I can't fault it

Breakfast was a shambles. We were offered breakfast in the room as there were not many guests staying that night. We were given a sheet to fill in the breakfast order, one sheet two guests. Although it was clearly written on the sheet that guest 2 was vegetarian and wrote what they wanted when the cooked breakfast arrived was told it was the vegetarian one, the sausages were vegetarian (the meat eater cut one to try it) but how many vegetarians eat black pudding and bacon!. Only one hot breakfast was delivered so this was sent back and a short time later, the correct hot breakfast arrived. They were good portions and nice. Milk arrived for the tea but no milk for the cereal. So mixed some muesli into the yogurt. Breakfast quality was excellent. Perhaps to save confusion with the kitchen a sheet per person would be better when ordering breakfast for the room. This was suggested both to the person who delivered the breakfasts and on checkout. Apart from the problem we experienced with the breakfast we enjoyed our stay. The WiFi connection was excellent and free. The standard room (shower no bath) was excellent, large room with a comfortable king size bed, window seat, table and two chairs plus a table and chair where the drinks facility was. There was also a safe. There were alternative pillows available too. We would stay here again

A nice place if you like a quiet out of the way stay for one night. Hotel staff were all very attentive.

The only minor is the walk between the hotel and Club room for the evening meal. It was quite dark having to walk across the dark carpark.

Breakfast was excellent and location ideal for meeting with family in that area.
