Elegant 3BR Garden Flat - Steps from Central Oxford

The flat was very clean and organised, they have clearly thought a lot about practical use of the space. Lots of storage cupboards, plug sockets, different light switches for different ambience, TV to log into any streaming platforms easily. Very good location and nice, quiet street. Park next to the street and paid parking very close by. Beautiful kitchenware available for use. Very clean towels and sheets, plus extra duvet and pillows for the sofa bed. We had an issue with the flat and the owners sent someone to sort it within a couple of hours. I also managed to leave something behind and the owners gladly helped to send it back to me! Thank you so much for the stay, highly recommend!

The flat is beautifully designed, exactly as shown in the listing photos. We loved having a functional kitchen and laundry washing machine. Plenty of space to spread out and get a break from each other.

The “air conditioner” is not what we expected. It is a portable fan/evaporative cooler unit on wheels. This was a pretty big disappointment for us because AC was our main factor when deciding on a place to stay for the 4 nights we were in Oxford. It was pretty hot during our stay with highs around 30-35 Celsius. The cooler only dropped the temp by 1 degree at most (Google how an evap cooler works - if it’s humid and hot it is not going to be effective) and only in whichever room we had it in. The rest of the flat stayed hot, meaning only 1 bedroom got to be cool at night. Keeping windows open at night was not an option for us as there are no screens and there are spiders everywhere outside. The third room that is detached from the flat at the back of the garden had several spiders inside. Thank goodness we didn’t need to use that room.

Everything was new and very nice, the TV and the kitchen worked correctly. The beds were comfortable.

This is a little Japanese style jewel box, utterly charming and comfortable. Ground level, so easy access. The host was accessible by phone and very helpful when we had a couple of transportation issues. Note that the 3rd bedroom is actually a separate unit in the garden with it's own bath and a Murphy bed, very cute. The mattresses were the best of our trip! You are also adjacent to a huge park. Grocery options OK, but most dining is in the center of town.

This is about .8 miles from the center of Oxford, very walkable BUT, at the moment, bad if you want to use a car, bus or taxi into town because the road/bridge is closed for construction (which has apparently gone on for at least a year and may go another year. Or more?) You easily can walk it - that bridge is intact- but a taxi into town literally has to do a 20 minute detour. We still recommend this wonderful place, just be aware and plan accordingly, especially if you have to transport luggage to/from the bus or train stations. For this reason we also did most of our meals in town before we walked back each day.

The location is good with easy access to train services and Waitrose supermarket. The green space nearby adds value to this location. We can even walk along the river to go to the train station.

The current air cooler machine is quite noisy. Having a microwave machine and a toaster would be helpful for our stay apart from the existing oven.

Modern and well equipped-make me feel like home
