Luxury 2BR Apartment On Royal Mile

Great apartment right in the centre of Edinburgh. Really convenient - we booked parking with Just Park which was just across the road at the Raddison Hotel, 24 hour shop next door. We ate at Vittoria on the bridge which was ten mins away and fab. Great bars around. Location just could't have been better!

Location - Close to main amenities But be mindful that a Karaoke bar is at the rear of the property and it is very loud!

The Entrance Hall is filthy and very dated This is an apartment in a residential building (not noted on the listing) There was drunk people walking around the premises. One of whom was lost and asking for directions. The Porter is not welcoming & does not know the details for the booking or the address of the building. The Owner is extremely rude and very unprofessional We did not stay the night due to our safety concerns. We didn't feel safe staying in this property as a family. (The owner does not accept this) The owner will reply to this message I'm sure - Yes my 11 year old son used the toilet whilst we were in the apartment for 5 minutes. Remember he's 11! (Apparently this is "disgusting" and "unacceptable"). I would not have written this review if the owner did not verbally insult me because I'd asked for a refund. Not all experiences are the same, ours was a bad one, an owner with some customer service ability would accept this. When the reply comes - ask yourself... Why would someone pay £260+ to use a toilet? Why would someone pay £260+ and then not stay (after only being there for 5 minutes) The answer is simple - We didn't feel safe with the experience we had from entering the property to entering the apartment. That's it. I have a young family and couldn't stay there when they felt like that. All I asked for was a refund. All I got in return was verbal abuse. Booking.com didn't support my reasoning and that's fine, there will be no refund. A lesson learned - I should have checked the property out first. But when your train is cancelled and you can't get home until the morning, maybe you take things at face value and just book anything. I was unsure whether to write this due to the abuse I have received already and I know that I will likely receive more once this is posted.
