"Book this place. Absolutely stunning with a brilliant host."

10.0

From the moment we saw the photos we knew that this was where we wanted to stay. And we were not disappointed. We celebrated my husband’s 40th birthday in the property and we will not forget it. The property was in pristine condition and every single detail was carefully thought through. The host Grace has decorated the place wonderfully, it has a lovely fusion of history and modernity. My little two boys loved it. They had space to explore and run around and we adults could just relax and enjoy the view. The beds were of high standard, we slept amazingly well. The place was luxurious and well equipped. It is in a peaceful and stunning part of Skye - yes all of Skye is stunning but this part is more so - there are beautiful walks and lovely restaurants in a few mins distance. If the weather is nice then you in for an absolute treat. Even if it’s not, you will have the best possible time. Just watch out for those pesky midges! If I could give 11/ 10 to the host Grace I would. On hearing the reason for us visiting Skye, Grace surprised us with a stunning cake and a lovely bottle of wine (and midge repellent). She went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable. During the stay my four year old got sick one night, Grace kindly arranged for new sheets and even got the clothes cleaned for us. If you need something Grace will absolutely make it happen if she can or at least try and provide an alternative. As our stay progressed, there was a possibility of seeing the Northern Lights, which we were unaware of. Grace messaged us about it and provided guidance on where the best place to see them was. In our case Grace absolutely went above and beyond to make us all feel comfortable. We ended calling her a Santa :) She was great at communicating since the moment we booked the accommodation and shared some lovely recommendations for all manner of things ranging from food to activities including telling us about the Aurora.

Having to leave it.

"You need to know the place!!"

9.0

The location is fantastic but a little away from Skye tourist attractions, however, the place is simply awesome and like no other. Spectacular

The beds are a little bit too soft.

"Perfect, cosy stay in a gorgeous and quirky house."

9.0

Everything we needed for our arrival. Bathroom kitted out. Beautiful and eccentric decor. Very cosy and comfy, especially as it was rainy and windy for most of our stay. Felt like we lived there.

Nothing!

"Superb"

9.0

This was the most extravagant accommodation on our 3 week trip. The unusual decor and the wild location made it memorable. While we explored the island it was fantastic to escape the traffic etc on this lovely peninsula. It was freezing and wet during our visit and the house was very warm and welcoming with great views. We barely saw the people on the duplex next door.

"All in all – our top-recommendation to this property."

10.0

Do not hesitate to book this property for your vacation on Skye. We had some great few days that in fact proved to be all too short. The owner (Grace) clearly has a deep interest in interior design and have let her creativity loose in this property. Look around and you will find lots of funny little details. Grace was very responsive to any request or question. When arriving the property appeared 100% clean, recently designed with high quality materials, artefacts, and furniture easily accommodating 6 people. The property has two separate rentals, but they are well-divided and you will experience full privacy in your part. The location is stunning along Loch Bay with a 10-15 min drive along a very scenic road to get to the house. This may sound long, but you will experience the difference of nature’s colours and beauty every time you pass. Distances are long on Skye but you have the Quiraing, the Fairy Pools and the Fairy Glen within driving distance – all must-see’s for first time visitors to Skye. For those with an interest in gastronomy and self-catering the presence of an AGA stove will impress (for those not – don’t worry, there is also a normal ceramic stove in the kitchen). There is a small garden with outdoor seating and herbs for free use. Before our arrival Grace had arranged the sourcing of ultra-fresh and beautiful seafood from Just-Hooked in Portree, including lobsters, langoustines and scallops. For those wanting high-end restaurant experiences Michelin-starred Lock Bay is within a short drive or 30-40 min walk, and The Three Chimneys and Edinbane Lodge are within driving distance. Book weeks or months in advance if you want to go to these restaurants.

A little more kitchenware to make full use of the facilities - but that can easily be fixed. Everything else - just perfect.
