Gorgeous River View in Alfama

- location : close to transportation + small markets around + 15min walk to tramway 28E. -home has some authenticity

- not comfortable at all in winter : windows are not closing properly and cold air enters the apartment. even with heaters, the apartment stays cold. - electricity shuts down if you run several items, ex : water boiler + heater. Then requires manual reset - not comfortable if you are tall (>1.70m): bathroom is very shallow - cleanliness is just ok: we have found mold and small insects in closets (didn't seem to be bugs). - balcony on kitchen side brings some bad smell (water drainage pipe just aside).

The sofa was not very cozy

The furniture looks like someone's cast offs. The bed was very uncomfortable with worn out flat pillows. No extra pillows or reading lights in the bedroom. The sofa was very hard and uncomfortable. The washing machine didn't spin properly. Everything had to be rung out by hand.

Nice size apartment, quiet.

Stairs up to the apartment after a long day of walking 😀. I think any apartment in Lisbon is going to have stairs so be ready to climb stairs after climbing the hills.

Ideally located by the Santa Apolonia station with a metro line that directly connects you to the city center with ease, the apartment was situated by a quiet neighborhood in Alfama with all necessary amenities during my stay in Lisbon. Less than 15 mins walking distance, you can discover great sites like the Igreja da Graça and beautiful, scenic panoramic views from Lisbon's iconic Miradouros da St. Luzia and da Graça.

The apartment was located on the third floor of the building which is not ideal for travellers with baggage, but the penthouse view of the river is well worth the climb.

The terrace but it could do with fresh paint. The space and light in the apartment. It was super clean and everything was provided( toilet paper, cleaning products etc). The location was brilliant, not far from anything, and very quiet. Fernando who let us in and showed us around was really great.

The stairs :),( but good exercise). The clothes were soaking out of the washing machine ( but not really a problem as the wind did the job).

Apartment with character and superb terrace for alfresco eating. Stayed 10 days, although it has all facilities to stay longer. Great welcome and support throughout the stay from Fernando.

Minor dislikes were very flat pillows, and the sofa was so slippery that a seat belt might be useful!

No lift

This appartement is exactly the one that you need during your stay in wonderful Lisbon, I felt like at home. Sunny and bright, with two balconies, all necessary appliances and a wonderful collection of jazz and portuguese CDs. Metro station 200m away, all kind of buses, you can also easily walk to the Rossio station, through the narrow and beautiful streets of Alfama. Although you look on the train station, there is no disturbing noise. Quet street, also the neighborhood. Joao was the great great host, all my compliments to him. The whole agency reacted very fast after our small problem with electricity and it was solved in a minute. The appartement is on the third flor, in the building without elevator, but this is not a problem at all, and quickly to reach. Netflix and great wifi are available. around the corner there is a famous Lisbons flea market, where you can find many interesting things for home, also souvenirs. numerous of restaurants and bars.

The only thing I could complaint about would be the smell of mold in a living- and sleeping room. not constantly, and probably not the problem in spring or summer when the windows are open, but we felt it from time to time. I dont know if it is a generally problem in all buildings in Lisbon due to the humidity, or only in the old ones, but maybe some kind of reconstructions would help. Nevertheless, I liked appartement and the service so much that I can not anything else but give you the highest possible note :)

Location is great - 3 blocks from train/metro station and on the edge of Alfama. It's an amazingly quiet street. The apartment is really big with 2 balconies and lots of ventilation and light.

The bed is horrible and hard. It's a cheap cotton futon from Ikea. The water heater is finicky. There's burn marks on the outside of the unit, you have to manually light it, and it often shuts off after a few minutes of hot water. If you're over 5'10" tall, the shower won't work for you. There is no AC, only a fan - not an issue if the temperature is under 85 degrees F because it cools down quickly at night, but I wouldn't stay there if the weather was any hotter.
