A traditional home situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes away from train station. There’s a communal kitchen and living room for use as well as a private onsen that you can reserve. Hiro, the host, is very accommodating and will provide rides when needed. His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

Hiro is a super host and will do everything to make your stay more comfortable. The house is very quite at night too.

We enjoyed our time at Hiro’s authentic Japanese home stay. He made us feel very welcome by inviting us into his home and transporting us to and from the train station, which was needed as it was a 30min walk otherwise. He prepared a lovely onsen for us both our nights and very kindly did our washing for us.

I wouldn’t have much to complain about in relation to the property itself, maybe just for travelers to keep in mind the distance to amenities and the schedule of the host, Hiro when he is dropping and collecting you.

Hiro and Marie are the best! So helpful and super nice. The place was a traditional Japanese house, so tatami floors in the rooms and slippers. The onsen bath is relaxing and convenient.

Honestly this place is perfectly fine, we personally are very sensitive to scents and the room was slightly musty, but nothing that would stop us from visiting again.

We had an excellent stay at Hiro-san’s place. He kindly picked us up and dropped us off at the station, which made getting around very easy, including for visiting Nikko and its surroundings. Hiro-san is a warm, funny, and caring person, who even shared with us a hiking route to discover the most beautiful landscapes in the area, as well as the address of an amazing shop for everything related to video games, manga, and more. The room was spacious and comfortable, the common areas very convenient, and the onsen on site particularly enjoyable.

Hiro est très sympa, accueillant, il assure la navette entre chez lui et la gare pour ceux qui n ont pas de voiture, un onsen privé nous attend à notre arrivée, la chambre dans une maison japonaise traditionnelle est très bien, petit jardin à la japonaise avec des carpes koi, et marie sa petite chienne est trop mimi.

Hiro-san es el mejor anfitrión que te puedes imaginar en la zona. Conoce todos los alrededores, es una caja de sorpresas, además de ser atento, amable y dispuesto a ayudar siempre. Su dominio del inglés es excelente y sus anécdotas no te van a dejar indiferente. Nos alojamos mi pareja y yo, para pasar la noche tras un día lluvioso de excursión en Nikko. Vino a recogernos a la estación en coche y nos trasladó en coche siempre que lo necesitamos. El alojamiento es compartido, pero en ningún momento se pierde la privacidad. Las instalaciones son cómodas, con todo lo necesario. Puedes disfrutar de un baño privado en una zona preparada, conectada a través de una ventana con el jardín. Es una experiencia de alojamiento en una casa familiar japonesa. Los jardines y alrededores de la casa son preciosos, así como su perrita, encantadora. Lo aconsejamos para cualquier persona o grupo que esté dudando si alojarse o no aquí. Nosotros repetiríamos sin dudarlo.
