Willow's Nordic Shepherds Hut

Well equipped cosy warm Shepards hut, in a great location.

Hot water only lasted about 5mins for shower.

The location was amazing, we've been visiting Ballater for years and found this to be such a great central place to stay with a dog. The hut is so warm and cosy, we had a great time!

Would've loved if there was a king size bed instead of a double

Excellent location. Enclosed garden for pooch. Very warm, clean and fully equipped with everything you would need.

Quite an early check out time and late check in.

Very clean,very cosy,vey well kitted out ! In fact much more than listed(2 ring hob,mini air fryer,toaster,kettle,pots pans and all you need. Mini log burner was great not that you need it much it’s so well insulated but great to have on for effect. No problem finding it and plenty space on the street to park and only a short walk into town. Check in was straight forward with a key code sent a few days before with good communication beforehand and an info booklet left for all other instructions. Overall highly recommend and would not hesitate to return.

Très belle découverte. La hutte est très bien aménagée, confortable et très propre. Le livret d'accueil permet d'avoir les informations nécessaires pour l'utilisation des équipements. Le mini poele était un plus très appréciable.

Excellent location in Ballater. Easy to walk everywhere, including bus stops. This was important as we had no car. Well equipped kitchen area, although we ate out, so didn’t use much apart from the kettle.

Sliding door into the shower room kept jamming on us. I did report to the owner, but got no reply. Hopefully they will have fixed now. Bed is so tightly fitted into space that it is difficult to get in and out. To be fair, this is obvious from the photos and is a lesson learned for us for the future.

Location was great, easy to find and parking was not an issue. Loved the little woodburning stove.

A number of things either did not work or did not work as expected: Bathroom sliding door kept falling off the slider and we would get locked in, requires both hands to force the door open. Toilet seat not secure so kept sliding sideways. Kettle would not open so had to fill through the spout. USB sockets above the bed, neither were not working. Outside light only ever came on when the switch was turned on as the sensor was set too high. Gate was not able to secure from the inside as the eye had been removed so could not use the hook and to secure from the outside bolt was a challenge as I am not very tall. Skylight blind, explanation given on how to open it but it put us off touching it so never opened it while we were there. The mattress either needs turning or replacing as you rolled into the centre of each side. It would be better if checkout was 11am as it would make for a more relaced morning on the last day.
