I had an amazing experience with Catherine Cruise in Halong Bay. The hospitality was exceptional from the moment we arrived. The cruise was very clean and well maintained, and the food was absolutely amazing throughout the trip. A special mention to Mary, one of the staff members, who made our experience even more memorable. She speaks excellent English, was very attentive to all customers’ needs, and always ensured everyone was comfortable and happy. Her professionalism and warm personality truly stood out. She should definitely be a role model for the other staff members. Thank you Catherine Cruise for such a wonderful and memorable experience. Highly recommended!

Very neat and well maintained

We had a wonderful 3 day / 2 night stay on this Ha Long Bay cruise. What really made the experience special was the incredibly accommodating staff, especially Mary and the cruise manager Ken. Mary took such great care of us throughout the trip and even helped hold our baby during dinner while she was working, which we really appreciated. Ken also went out of his way to arrange bananas for our baby from the mainland when there were none available onboard. The rooms were lovely with beautiful sea views, and we especially enjoyed the large bathtub overlooking the bay. One of the main reasons we chose this cruise was because all of the food served was halal (certification available, but note that alcohol is served onboard). The food quality was very good with plenty of seafood, meat, and chicken options. Breakfast and lunch were buffet style, while dinner was a sit-down 6-course meal each evening. The pool onboard was not huge but still a good size considering it is on a ship. We also enjoyed the included activities such as squid fishing at night and the cooking class (making fresh spring rolls), which was simple but fun. We especially enjoyed the activities on the second day of the cruise. Do note that the second day excursions are shared with guests from other cruises and ships and are on a different boat. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a comfortable and relaxing way to experience Ha Long Bay.

A few small things could have been improved. While the food quality was good overall, we personally would have preferred more Vietnamese-style dishes during dinner service, although there were Vietnamese options available during breakfast and lunch. The first day activities were well organised and we enjoyed the cave hike, however we were less impressed with the beach stop. The beach itself was quite small, very crowded due to multiple cruises visiting at the same time, and unfortunately not the cleanest. We also booked the transfer service from Hanoi to the cruise, which was very comfortable. However, we were not aware beforehand that there would be a stop at a pearl center where guests had to walk through a pearl implantation demonstration and gift shop to access the café/rest area. It felt a bit overly commercialized and unnecessary, and we would have appreciated this being communicated in advance.

I would like to highlight that Evelyn went over and beyond to assist me during a personal crisis on the boat. Ken as a host was wonderful and very informative and Ali from entertainment was a total rockstar.

Nice boat with good views.

Dinner set menu served warm, NOT HOT. Lobster overcooked and dry. Spa is not luxury, only 2 massage tables with a curtain. VERY small bathrooms with no water pressure. Wood planks on all the decks are loose and a safety hazard. No coffee included with meals, but need to pay extra for coffee.

Big, spacious n amazing cabin. Friendly staff especially the person in charge of the cruise. He was very welcoming and looked after us well during our kayak/ boating outing. The ship is big, clean and offers many activities.
