"Great location, great room and great service."

The Camp Estate is a superb Art Deco style lodge just outside the castle. The rooms are spacious with en-suite, super comfy and ours had a great view back towards Dunedin. The staff were great and could not have done more for us. The breakfasts were superb.

We had dinner at the castle one night. The meal could have been better but this does not reflect on the actual accommodation.

"Wonderful, but dining options limited"

Newly renovated, beautiful decor, very tasty breakfast cooked to order, amazingly frontline staff, few guests, free wine in the evening, nice location on top of hill with view.

Dinner options limited — only served at nearby (separate drive) castle as prix fix (sharing table w other guests). too far to drive for dinner into town. Adding deck chairs on the front lawn would have been good.
