"Nice and cosy, but won’t be returning."

8.0

Facilities great. Warm and cosy. Shower great.

Road noise from 5am very frustrating. Parking issue with neighbours using the spaces outside the cottage so had to park further down. Every time!

"Perfect little place to stay to unwind and take in the beauty of the Peak District"

8.0

The house is situated in a quaint little village, very small with 2 cosy pubs. The house has nice views of fields from all front windows. The lounge is comfortable with an excellent and simple to use log burner which makes it very warm. We stayed in winter but the rear garden looked nice for warmer days, could imagine being sat out there having tea and a glass of wine. Bedrooms were fine for us as a couple with toddler and baby. Bathroom was spacious and the shower was excellent! Quick drive to lots of local attractions and some of the busier towns like Matlock and Bakewell.

"Perfect romantic getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay."

10.0

Cozy and homely. Well equipped on the inside and stunning views on the outside. The welcome wine and biscuits were a lovely touch. The cottage is so conveniently located. Definitely would recommend and would return.

Nothing really.

"30th Wedding Anniversary break"

10.0

We always love going to what feels like a second home, Derbyshire, as we had our honeymoon nearby in Aldwark 30 years ago. First time staying at Dale End Cottage, but know Brassington well. We had great communication in regards to our stay before arriving. I would suggest to others who don't know Derbyshire to screenshot arrival details as there is no phone signal in Brassington. Cottage has wifi. The cottage is welcoming. It has a homely lounge with a log burner- there are some logs/kindling provided, but you can get extra logs by paying prior or from nearby places quite easily. The Kitchen had everything & more provided. Lots of crockery/cutlery. Has oven/microwave/airfryer/toaster/fridge/freezer(in utility room), washing machine (if needed). Upstairs has 1 double bed & another room with twin/single beds and good size bathroom with bath/shower. Also has an outside patio area. We loved staying here as its a great base to get to places- 30 mins from Bakewell, 40 mins from Chatsworth House. There are 2 pubs in Brassington, both with fairly new landlords. We also visited peak wildlife park which again is about 30 mins from the cottage. Thank you for a memorable 30th Wedding Anniversary & also thank you for the welcome bottle of wine & shortbread as well. A lovely cottage in a beautiful county.

Nothing really negative to say at all. As mentioned, not a lot of phone signal in the area- but great fot a quieter stay. Doorway to dining/ kitchen is low for tall people. Some may struggle with stairs, as its a proper cottage. Shower rail was broken at shower head but will stay up when shower is on. Had lovely big bath sheets but they were a bit crispy- not soft & fluffy but nice having bath sheets/ instead of towels that don't really cover your body. Leaving time was 10am & we were just about ready to leave and cleaners were there dead on 10am & felt a bit rushed to leave. Just small things but had no effect on how lovely our stay was.

"Lovely relaxing break in a charming cottage."

10.0

It was on a good location and had everything we could need. Having washing facilities and things like washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets although I did take my own just in case was fantastic. The welcome wine and biscuits was a nice touch as well.

A little bit of pet hair when we don’t have any pets ourselves but being a pet friendly cottage it’s to be expected really.
