What a view Mevagissey

The accommodation was perfect we was only there a matter of hours due to a death in the family so did not stay in the end but the property was fresh and clean and the host was so welcoming as well made us feel right at home and it has the best view of the bay. We will be planning to go back again at a later date and loved meet the two new puppy's as well. Unfortunately life has it's own plans so not requesting a refund nothing as we support the independent as we are independent as well will highly recommend place to all our friends and family

What a view! One of the most aptly named guest houses I’ve ever stayed in. The view is amazing. To be greeted with a nice cup of coffee on arrival was a lovely introduction to Terry and Jo, our hosts. They both were superb giving us a warm welcome and doing their very best to make us feel at home including corralling their gorgeous little puppies Reggie and Ronnie in a downstairs room, respecting the fact that one of us has an allergy to dogs. Terry cooks the best breakfast that you could possibly wish for. Huge helpings nicely presented with little touches that wouldn’t be amiss in a 4star hotel. (Chives on the scrambled egg) The slippers and dressing robes were an unexpected treat in our room.

Terry is in the middle of redecoration so I’m sure the carpet and flooring in the public areas will be improved. Our room was an adequate size but there is not much room for luggage, so travel light.

There are two rooms at What A View. The room we stayed in had limited storage - one small single wardrobe and one bedside table. There was no hairdryer, no tea and coffee making facilities and no terrace. The bathroom is across a landing which is accessed by the hosts and other guests. The view was lovely, as was the bedding and the toiletries. We parked in the harbour car park, a short walk from the property. If you are considering booking a room at this property, I would recommend you contact the hosts beforehand to confirm which room you are booking. Both appear to be the same price and have the same description, however the experience is very different - and somewhat disappointing - if you are in the smaller room.

The accommodation is lovely. The view is stunning. But the most important — are the hosts. They are just absolutely amazing! And the breakfast! Oh mu god!

Terry and Jo were amazing hosts, we couldn't want for more. We felt very welcomed and when we came back to the B&B after a day out it was like coming back to old friends. The room and ensuite were spotless, the bed was incredibly comfy. The breakfasts were top notch and the local knowledge was most welcome, thank you! We could certainly stay again.

We loved the holiday, our host's Jo and Terry were amazing, friendly, and did everything they could to make our stay just wonderful. It was like coming to visit a couple of long-lost friends and just reconnecting again it was so lovely, and we felt so at home. The rooms were so beautifully decorated with the most stunning views of the harbour and the little village of Mevagissey, the bedding duvet, pillows and blanket smelled fresh and were so comfortable, warm, and super white, and the room was definitely put together with a lot of thought for their guests. The whole place was spotless and clean. They even put in the rooms white gowns and slippers for the guests and lovely, good quality towels with flannels, hand towels, and big bath towels. There was also shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and cream (which had the most wonderful fragrance). The rooms had plenty of storage room so you could unpack and put the suitcases out the way. When it came to the breakfast, we'll what can we say 😏 it was unbelievable and delicious and hot and the flavour 😋 yummy, we looked forward to Terry's breakfast every morning and the choice was great, fresh orange juice real orange juice not like some b&b's who give you the one you mix with water yuk. You are given a menu when you arrive and asked to pick what you wanted the next morning and hand it to Terry, and he would make it and the scramble egg well better than we have ever had in a 5 star hotel infact the whole meal was just so worth getting up every morning for. We were so happy when we realised they had two cheecky little chappies living in the house too, and they were Ronnie and Reggie, two of the most adorable little puppies just made the stay and holiday even more special and made the accommodation so homeley and what good little boys they were so well behaved and loved cuddles when ever they could lol.

There was absolutely nothing at all we didn't like it was absolutely fantastic and beautiful.

Lovely location looking down into the harbour from our room. How’s couldn’t have been more friendly, helpful and welcoming, nothing was to much trouble and the breakfast was a beautiful feast. Room was spotless and a very comfortable bed.

Very friendly people. Very clean facilities

Parking was a 10-15 minute walk up a steep hill, with suitcases in tow. No hand towels in bathroom. Bath mat too small or too close to the shower. Bathroom sink too large, requiring too much water.
