The Bourne, Westbourne

Beautiful flat with an amazing balcony. Unfortunately the weather was not great so we could not use it much. Large bedrooms with loads of storage. Very nice furnishings. Had everything we needed from cutlery to dishwasher tablets and baking paper. En-suite with a large shower and in the second bathroom a bath tub. All clean. Beds were comfortable and the bed linen clean. Flat is on the 3rd floor but there is a lift.

Parking was not accessible to us as we drive a large car and the entrance to the underground parking spaces was too steep for us. We would have grounded. We parked on the road opposite as there were a few empty spaces. Hot Water was not working. We run the taps for several minutes without luck and even checked on the boiler before calling our contact who then talked my partner through on how to increase the pressure. Hot water was working then but we had to repeat the procedure every morning to get hot water for showers. General state of En-suite bathroom needs an urgent update. The wall next to the toilet has water stains and flaking paint. A lot of grout is missing in various places around the shower. Shower drain cover has the metallic pain peeling off and looks unsightly. Metal paint of the bathroom under sink storage handle is bubbling and flaking. In the hallway must have been a leak or spill close to the living room door as the floor there is slightly raised spongy to walk on. The finger plate of the handle to the washing machine is loose and the beautiful Chandelier in the hallway is hit by the main bathroom door when it is opened. Fridge freezer needs defrosting as there is an actual sheet of ice at the back wall of the fridge.

The location was good and we have stayed in that area before. The apartment was lovely especially the wrap around terrace/balcony .......shame about the rain! the apartment was very clean, comfortable and warm.

We were not keen on not having hand towels and this has been raised before. We do prefer live TV instead of streaming only but it did not bother us. The linen was very creased and had not been ironed but that is personal choice. No real problems and we would definitely stay again later in the year.

Spacious and comfortable living area. Excellent kitchen/dining facilities. Very comfortable bed.

Lovely large flat which was well equipped.

Property was fine though felt communication lacking. Sent a message prior to arrival which wasn’t responded to and when the boiler needed attention we had to chase as no response to phone message and no follow up to see if the boiler had actually started up again.

Spacious, quiet. Great location for us visiting family. Plenty of kitchen equipment. Towels were great. Loved the Christmas tree in the living room.

Unable to access the parking. It was only confirmed that the parking was underground when the access information was sent and it wasn’t until we arrived that we knew that the access was via a steep slope. The car we drove (5series BMW) has low profile tyres and it was impossible to use the car park, we tried but it was not possible, so we had to park on the road. Some maintenance points, flush broken, light bulbs need changing, batteries need to be changed in clock. The water pressure for the shower was not great. The light in the main bedroom really needs a good clean.

Everything beautiful penthouse suite, beds very very comfortable and nice and fresh covers TVs in every room, a lovely rap-around balcony all the way around it would definitely recommend staying here, underground secure parking with life that goes all the way up, cctv in the basement and corridors, small little bit like hand towels cleaning clothes but can’t really fault the place, definitely great value for money 100% 😎
