The location is good, close walk to Ortigia. Its clean and has been modernised (eg modern clean bathroom)

The check-in. Its a self check in and this was the first of this type after 5 days in Italy. We are very uncomfortable providing copies of passports etc. Our government travel warnings are to show on request but allow copies only to true government officials. Haven't been asked for this again, suspect its a self check-in thing, which we avoid. Most uncomfortable. Parking hassles - asked to move car when in town at dinner after parking where we had been told to park. The room fronted the street. Only window was a high one that you couldn't see out of - room stuffy unless you had fan or aircon on. Very noisy street noise even into early hours of the morning.

Great location, 15mins walk from Ortigia and the Archaeological Park. The hosts are very helpful, friendly, and communicative. The secure parking behind a locked gate was perfect for my motorcycle.

The noise - there is just a door between the adjoining the apartment next door which means you can hear all movements and conversations, and the scraping of furniture in the apartment above.
