Station House Flat on outskirts of Thornhill

The property was lovely, very quaint and nicely decorated. It was a handy drive to surrounding towns. The host had thought of everything, a wee tub of toiletries was available incase we had forgotten something, well equipped kitchen and the furnishings were cosy. The host was also easy to get a hold of when we couldn't work out the wifi. Dog friendly although the roads around were small country roads not great for walking dogs. The flat is literally on a railway platform, we were worried it would be noisy but it wasn't.

We were text by host on the morning we were arriving to say the roof was getting fixed but had to wait until Monday. The rain had been pretty bad so a basin was left to catch water in the kitchen. Fortunately the weather dried up and the leak stopped. It didn't waste the stay but would have been better to be informed prior to booking as the leak did not look new.

Loved the trains passing and lovely village, flat was lovely.

Perfect for our trip to Drumlanrig Castle, very quiet (it's actually detached from the main building). A lot of though has gone into making sure quests are comfortable and have everything they need, down to milk in the fridge and some very nice local biscuits.

The Flat is a real gem! Just what we needed, a base to explore the local area and also to spend a day in Edinburgh due to an event we were attending. The Flat is nice and cosy, well decorated and has a real homely feel to it. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped for what you need too which is ideal especially as food delivery companies do not come out that far. The nearby centre of Thornhill is lovely, has everything you need and Dumfries is 20 minutes or so down the road. Beautiful location with so much to see and this provides a great base. Just a couple of things to note: (1) Close to the train line although trains do not run through the night and no goods trains - not an issue when out and about obviously (2) Internet can be patchy due to the location, (3) Dog friendly but no garden or secure area to let them off attached to the property BUT plenty of outside areas to walk them (4) From speaking to one of the flat owners who was out when we arrived back one day, no set parking spaces on the left hand side of the building, just don't block the gate to the buildings serving the train line and (5) Sharon, the host, was brilliant, any little query was answered almost immediately!

Franchement rien à redire sur l'appartement. Très bien équipé, confortable, très bien situé pour visiter la région.

Il manquait juste une explication pour la douche électrique (il faut tirer sur la ficelle derrière la porte de la salle de bain)
