"The hostel is lovely, but I would go back for their enthusiasm to share their vision and knowledge of the cenotes. Thank"

The hostel is located in a quiet and peaceful area. I love the minimalistic design in the main area. Loved having a mosquito net over the bed. The bathroom and shower is gorgeous:-) The best part is the staff. They are very knowledgeable about all the cenotes. They recommended me two of them, and I had an unforgettable experience.

The Hostal Oro Verde Homún experience feels like being part of the family. Dulce and Aleph welcomed us into their home and shared generously their knowledge of Homún and the special joy they bring to life! All the hostel basics are well-covered. The place is always spotless and the kitchen exceptionally well-provisioned (including the pantry, which they generously shared with us). The family also prepares meals that are more delicious than your average restaurant! We were in Homún to visit the local cenotes, and Aleph had several amazing recommendations that made sure we picked the right ones! We rented bicycles, waterproof torches and life jackets from the hostel, all at very reasonable prices. These significantly improved our experience of the cenotes (especially the bikes and torches). For our final day in Homún, Aleph offered to take us on a tour to three cenotes, including the Santa Maria caves and cenotes. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was an incredible experience that exceeded all expectations. Aleph shared his detailed knowledge about the cenotes and their natural processes, the secret parts of each cenote, and a once in a lifetime mud-bath in the caves! Dulce and Aleph are building something beautiful at Oro Verde, and I cannot recommend more strongly that you take the opportunity to experience it for yourself!

"A hidden gem in Homún"

10.0

When you see so many positive and long reviews from so many people that stayed there and took their time to write about their experience you can be sure the place must have something that others do not have... and hell yeah it did... I came to Oro Verde for just one night initially, thinking there would not be so much to do in a small town like Homún... and I could not have been more wrong. I ended up staying 3 nights and I would have stayed many more if I could. The atmosphere was really nice, the place is clean and spacious and the Internet works perfectly, even when the hostel is full, as they have Starlink. It is also the perfect place to disconnect from work, routines and busy city life and take it a bit slower in calm environment and connect with nature The host are two amazing human beings that love what they do and work very hard so everyone can enjoy their vacation at its fullest. Dulce cooks amazing homemade, fresh and healthy food, which is way better than any of the other restaurants in town and for a very reasonable price. Aleph on the other side will take you with the mototaxi to the best cenotes around Homún and not just the most touristy ones in which you will have the whole place almost by yourself, as we did on many occasions. They also provide snorkel masks and lanterns for a better experience. Additionally, they got brand new mountain bikes for the guests to use and move around freely and have many more amazing ideas to make the place even better!! So definitely looking forward to stay there again!! Muchas gracias por todo y hasta pronto :)

Everything was amazing! Muchas gracias!!

An absolute gem! It's so beautiful here and it's surrounded not just by cenotes but amazing countryside for long leisurely walks. The food that they prepare is organic and delicious and they are very generous with it and the juices they prepare.. They also have transport to deliver you wherever you want. A place to view magnificent sunsets and the stars too..it's amazing and so are the family that run it xxxxx

Nothing! All top quality!

"Perfect stay to get to know Cenotes"

10.0

This is not only a hostel, this is the full package. The best part about it are the hosts that make the stay special, as they care for you like their family as they cook for you and offered us guided adventures: driving to the cenotes with motortaxis and explaining all backgrounds. The hostel itself is small with its 8 beds, it is very clean, beds are comfortable, breakfast is very delicious. Parking directly in front of the hostel is possible, the last 50m are a little bumpy but manageable. Lockers available.

Just very minor points: Water pressure at shower is not perfect and no hot water. Not many communal areas except one table in front of the house but with just 8 guest max you'll find quite places.

"Would happily come back"

10.0

Honestly? Go! Dulce and Aleph are creating something magical. They give information most tour guides woudn't know, cook eyceptionally well and healthy and are happy to help with everything one could need. The hostal it self is one big room so you get to know everybody very quickly. Other than that it's a little hidden which makes for a calm atmosphere surrounded by nature (there even is a secret cenote near by!). Everything was super clean and fully equipped. I got to really relax on my days there, and by the end it felt like I was part of the family. I am so excited for how Oro Verde grows in the future and will forever hold fond memories of this place and most of all the people.

The property is very homey and comfortable. I am a germaphobe and still somehow this Hostal met my expectations! The shower was even more beautiful in person. The open space was very freeing and it was cool enough to sleep at night without any fans or AC (November)
