Остановились в Caravan Saray Family в Туркестане — остались очень довольны! Чистые и уютные номера, хорошее расположение и приятная атмосфера. Отдельно хочется отметить девушку по имени  Шыгыла — очень вежливая, внимательная и отзывчивая, всегда помогала и создавала хорошее настроение. Спасибо за тёплый приём! Обязательно вернёмся ещё 😊

"Great civilised stay in a weird deserted shopping / entertainment complex."

This is a big modern hotel, but rooms are lovely and large, the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, and the breakfast although not the best, is good. Free entry to attractions (the Fly Kazakhstan is, I must admit, brilliant and far too short) and just 10 minutes walk from the entrance to the mausoleum complex.

Its a bit weird ... the hotel is part of a huge shopping/ entertainment complex (Karavansaray complex) that, 7 years after being built, is largely empty. 75% of the retail shop locations are empty (we were told too expensive) and hardly any visitors. The whole complex is characterless and is a white elephant, and is located in a huge new built city (New City) that, like the complex, is empty (loads of new apartments, we were told <50% occupancy) and characterless. Its not attractive for tourists ... its ugly. The hotel restaurant is a 10 to 15 minute walk to the far end (called the harbour) of the complex, although golf carts are laid on. We ate twice in the restaurant, which serves 2 Karavansaray hotels, and we were the only customers (the food was great and not too pricey.) It was nice to be in a civilised place for 2 nights, but it was also just plain weird and didn't feel like the "Silk Road" ... it felt like a deserted Disney land without the disney characters.
